Congrats!! i too had just received a letter from my dr last week. i was told the same thing 1-2 years. maybe we can learn together
I would be a witness. I have been denied so many times. All I want is some kind of quality of life. The health care system in Manitoba does not understand that waiting for an obese person is like a ticking time bomb. I was told by someone at Manitoba Health that obesity is caused by our own doing, that's why it's not covered. But Manitoba Health covers drug and alcohol addiction. Now that makes sense.

Dr Ponce de Leon Mexico VSG 4 Jun 12. I lost 57 lbs on my own before having a VSG. This is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself.
would have lived to have gotten together but dr vergis just cancelled my ct scan so i am not coming into the city.

I just received a call from my doc, I HAVE been accepted into the bariatric program! WHOO HOO! Thought for sure I would be on some kind of stand by list due to my age and high BMI. Now the real wait begins....told to expect a 1-2 year wait. Any suggestions on what to do to prepare?......should I wait till I hear what goals they have for me pre- surgery? In case it doesn't show I'm stunned, excited, and pleased!
I have to come to Winnipeg for a Breakfast seminar for Viking river cruises at 8 am should be done by 11am, then I have another supper seminar for Transat Hollidays at 5:30 pm at the Hilton. I will be free for coffee between noon and 5:00. We could meet up at the polo park area. I will most likely hang out around there most of the afternoon. (no sense making 2 trips to Winnipeg) Barb.
Well I give up on trying to get skype. I have downloaded it twice and got a bunch of garbage with it, (conduit and visual bee which took over my browser and installed a toolbar even though I clicked do not install). I uninstalled the garbage and ran virus scanners all of them. Still had to uninstall them again. Finally did a system restore. Tried to install it again from another link and same thing. Grrrrr. I give up. NO SKYPE FOR ME. LOL
