I had the DS in Mexico with Dr. Ponce.  Everything has been great.  I have now lost 130 pounds in 1 year. I don't exercise and still eat normal.  The weight loss for me is due to the malabsorbtion of fat.  I can only absorb 20% of the fat I take in.  If you would like more info on the DS procedure check dsfacts.com

Topic: RE: Opinions on surgery in Mexico?

Hi there, I went to Dr. Ponce too.  I had the Duodenal switch procedure.  Everything went great, I too the same as Teesha had gas that was uncomfortable but no pain at all.  I wish I had taken the gas X strips (Rainyone had given me some) I was too afraid to take them.). The hospital was super clean and the staff was great.  I received better care there than I could have in Manitoba.  Seriously.   I would never have thought that possible, but its true.  I had my surgery a week after Teesha and am down 130 pounds. If you decide to go to Mexico, message me I will find you the cheapest flight. I am a travel agent (NO FEES) even if you cancel.  Barb.

I did have my gallbladder removed many years ago but I don't easily forget the pain associated with it.

I am going to say maybe gallbladder as well. When I had my first attack I thought I was going to die. The pain through my back and shoulder was awful. Since I had it removed no more pains like that.

Is this the first time this has ever happened? I see you are 2 years post op! Have you had your gall bladder out? Sometimes when people have their gallbladders, this type of pain can occur???

So on sat i was in so much pain I thought I was having a heart attack.  I had so much pain after eating.  I only ate about quarter ao a chicken brest and a little broccoli and about half an hour later I was in agony.  I couldnt breathe had major chest pain and wanted to vomit bit nothing would come up.  went to hospital they tested for heart attack with ablood test and said it wasnt that gave me morphine to nock me out.  in the morning they said i looked better an if I could eat something they would send me home.  I was anle to eat so they let me go.  Has anyone ever experienced this?

Thanks for your reply.  You are right about the band I had mine in 3 years age and have a date to get it out.  Can't wait did not lose any weight but lost a lot of money.  My problem was not the amount of food but I guess the kind of food.  I wish you luck on your quest.
