LOOKING FOR A REGISTERED DIETICIAN
I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY INSURANCE (US FAMILY HEALTH PLAN TRICARE PRIME, MILITARY INSURANCE) WILL NOT COVER MY VISIT I HAD SCHEDULED WITH SARAH SIMARD AT JOHNS HOPKINS BAYVIEW MEDICAL CENTER. SHE WAS MY SURGEON'S FIRST CHOICE (DR.MAGNUSON). I'M SO FRUSTRATED BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY $400 FOR A ONE TIME NUTRITION EVALUTION, REQUIRED BY MY SURGEON AND INSURANCE CO. I DID FIND THE GREENSPRING STATION BUT THEY CHARGE ALMOST $200 FOR AN ASSESSMENT. IF ANYONE HAS ANY KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE WITH ANY R.D. IN THIS AREA, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THIS IS THE LAST THING I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY DR'S OFFICE SUBMITS FOR APPROVAL.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
NEED A REGISTERED DIETICIAN THAT WILL NOT CHARGE ME AN ARM AND A LEG

Hello Chiyna,
I was wondering if you can go through your insurance carrier to find one in your network.
I am sorry I can not help. Call Tricare maybe they have a list or something.
Good luck with everything.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

Hi. As a former active duty army person who was made to enroll in the "fat boy" program multiple times throughout my 8 year career, I was made to see a dietician/nutritionist many times as part of a weight control program. Have you checked with some of the local military clinics/hospitals. I know Ft. Myer's Rader Clinic has a registered nutritionist (at least 6 yrs ago when I was in the Army.) Ft. Belvoir is still going strong and may be worth the drive for a free Eval. Good luck.
