OT: Tattoo advice
Hey everyone :
I cann't believe I am saying this but I am thinking about getting a Tattoo : I am sure it would
be of my dog Cuddles. She is 10 years old and the light of my life .
My question is where would be the best place to get it?
I am thinking on my shoulder or back.
With all the weight I have to lose I am sure I will need major PS/ am I correct in thinking the shoulder would be the best place? I know I will have to have my arms done eventually. And
chances are i will need some PS on my legs as well. Or maybe it will be better just to wiat until
weight loss and PS are finished? Need some opinions here thanks

I thought of the ankle too but my concern is that I have so much weight to lose and I don't know
what kind of plastic surgury I will get. My legs are (were ) huge and I am afraid if i do the ankle
it would get screwed up if I do eventually get ps on my legs. LOL who am I kidding I am needle phobic too and would probably chicken out at the last minute. its just something I have always thought about doing and since WLS all things now seem possible. Like I have always wanted to parasail and was to heavy for it : This summer I am going to do it : I don't know where
but its going to happen !!!!! I am getting ready for my first airplane flight in about 10 years.
I was just so heavy I would not have been comfortable but now I think I am ready to try it.
I have an Aunt and Uncle and brother and sisterinlaw in Jacksonville so thats the first flight;
I am thinking maybe my brothers birthday the middle of March : Wish me luck all.
I plan to get one too but I have a couple friends who are Tattoo artists and when my daughter got one last month we talked a lot with the tattoo artist (also a friend) and he said the same thing wait until the weight is off and plastic surgery is done. You may be able to do it before plastic surgery but check with the Tattoo artist and the Dr where would be good for your body or just wait until you are maintaining. It could be a present for reaching the maintenance phase and being done with the plastic surgery. Everywhere looses and it changes the tattoo. Most tattoo artists are perfectionists with their work so they want it to look good because you represent their work so I am guessing most will tell you to do it after plastic surgery. Some people no matter what they loose have more or less excess skin so you just don't know. If you are like me waiting is horrible. I want it now but I also want it to look good when I get all the weight off so I am waiting. Good luck in your decision.

Darla,
My son is a tattoo artist at Flaming Dice in Jarrettsville. Advice: wait until you've lost most of what you want to lose and see what, if any plastics you want. You don't want to end up with Cuddles looking like a Dachshund, do you?
Maybe you could get your nostril pierced as an interrim? (My son did mine in July, 06 and I love it. Just a little diamond stud.

I got my first tatto about 18 months ago (butterfly on my lower back). There are two more that I am waiting to get. I would suggest that you wait until you have lost most of your weight and decide whether or not PS will be necessary. That way you can decide where you really WANT it to be. Thats why I'm waiting on my last 2.
