Well, I've finally hit the end of the 250's and have exactly 100 lbs. to go now! 250 is a big deal for me. The last time I weighed 250 was when I was 28 (and I am 50 now)!! Last week's fill is starting to kick in, because my stomach capacity is greatly diminished. I can eat pretty much anything withou except bread, so I think I'm at a decent fill level. I knew that I was going to drop soon because the inches have been dropping and pants I bought in early January are now getting big on me. It just a matter of waiting it out, I guess.
Re Kathy T's comment on Amy's thread re no malabsorption: Thanks, but I'm not Superwoman! I guess my metabolism wasn't as screwed up as I thought it was. I think a screwed-up metabolism is why many people who have WLS weren't able to lose weight without it, despite trying long and hard, so the malabsorption compensates for that. But, it seems that pretty much getting rid of white carbs is what's working for me. I never did that before for any length of time. As any rate, the longitudinal studies on the band show that bandsters take longer because there's no malabsorption, but they do get there eventually. It's a slower trip down! Sometimes much slower!
