Wednesday I had all kinds of appointments. I got my psych eval out of the way, which went over without a hitch & she will be writting her recommendation for me. Whew! Then I met with Dr. Singh, rather brief visit but I liked him well enough, he seemed very nice and knowledgable. Right after that I met with the nutritionist. Luckily they were all in the same office and I did them one right after the other. They have the list of requirements from my insurance company and everything that I needed to provide from that list. So now I just have to be patient and wait for them to get it submitted. That is the hard part. lol Dr. Singh did say that my surgery should be in mid-July, which I know will be here before I know it! Hopefully the insurance will go through easy enough and won't drag things out.
Yesterday I told my bosses that I was probably going to be having surgery in July and that we needed to figure out who is going to cover me and I need to start working with them NOW. I'm in charge of payroll so it is pretty essential that someone else can do it while I'm out. I also told them it would be at least 4 weeks I am out. I know I can probably go back sooner..but I haven't taken any time off other than a day or two at a time since I started over 2 years ago, so I'm not rushing back. lol Dr. Singh told me to take what I wanted.

I might as well get something out of those short term disability premiums I'm paying. lol
Before all those appointments on Wed afternoon I saw my PCP to go over my recent lab results. They were NOT good. My previous labs were really good, my A1c was 6.1 (for those non-diabetics, under 7 is ideal) and cholesterol was in the 130's I think. This time, I am apparently falling apart. A1c 9.3 and cholesterol 243! So he changed all of my meds around. Also, I have never had a problem with blood pressure before but Wed it was 150/104! When I was in there a few weeks ago it was 135/90 which was high for me. I checked it again yesterday at CVS and was 148/99. He wants me back early July to check it again and also wants me to keep track of it between now and then. If it keeps running high then on BP meds I go. Oh..and from tests that my rhematologist ran, I'm low in Vitamin D too and am now on something to bring that up. With all this no wonder I have been feeling like crap lately and have no energy.
So with all those lab results and now the blood pressure issue, I realize even more that I am making the right decision in having surgery. Now I just have to be patient until I hear it's approved!
