Thank you for the wonderful responses that I have received regarding this post, however, I need to address what Cira has said (please...don't take this personal).  This is the place that we should be and will talk about addictions and temptations.  Will it lead to personal conversations hopefully.  It is through the trust and support that we gain from one another that we are able to continue through this journey.  How many times have I written that I was so tempted to eat that donut or scarf down a bag of cookies...only to have somebody from a forum...pm me or post words of support.  During my days of fighting to gain weight from losing too much and wanting to die...these boards are what kept me going.  Am I concerned about newbies reading things that are frightenig.... definitely.  I am concerned that they don't read!!!!  We are all painted a picture both internally and externally that the thin life that we will have will be better then our previous one.  NOT TRUE!!!!...  There is the contiued issue of always being fat inside, of being afraid of every bite you take, of the possibility of cross addictions, of being prayed on because of the vulnerablity of our emotions, the fact that you get constipated with iron, etc....  They need to read about the situations that can occur...  Knowledge is a wonderful tool.... We need to continue using this and other forums to discuss those things that we need to discuss with those who understand where we are coming from.  If we suggest that conversations belong in other areas, then we are hampering the importance of free speech, the vitality of need, and the necessity of conversation.  I thank God everyday for these boards because they allow me to be the thin person on the outside....who has questions that only those in my same "body-boat" will understand.....

Oh trust me Dan I am not taking anything personal no skin off my back!  This is a place to talk, vent and have support I never said any different.
Talking about what you have just mentioned on this post is one thing and parading a destructive behavior is another.

Now it seems like the original post you posted you are totally missing the point or just being plainly conflicted about how you feel about things.

Here is your other quote.

I want us to remember this too.......  EVERY DAY..IN EVERY WAY... I AM A SPECIAL PERSON.  We need to remember this, because we truly are special.  Each of us has talents, gifts, and skills that makes us special.  We need to realize this and excel and share these gifts.

SADLY, however, there are those who pray upon us at our weakest.   Knowing what we want to hear... knowing what we want to feel..there are those out there who try to sabatoge our success..  Offering food, treats, cigarettes, alcohol, or whatever "vice" might tempt us so that they get their way.  When these tempations are before us, we need to remember that we deserve better.

So tell me from this.... when you have people constantly posting about getting drunk and partying how helpful is that to most pre ops, newly post ops or people who are just a bit more conservative.  That is what I was saying.  I guess you have had a change of heart somewhere down the lines? Why post this if you can't truly stand by what you post?

Anyway, I will move on since I have had two people that didn't like my post and they emailed me complaining or suggesting that this was meant to them. So obviously who ever has the destructive behavior got knocked on the head by what I had to say and didn't like it...

I will say that I am not the only one who feels the same way I do. I am also speaking for new and old members that has pm'd me agreeing with me.

I am done with with all of this.

Have a great and productive life!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I LOVE everything you have to say and I pray for everyone that has these so called issues, WLS should never be taken light.  There is a ton of other issues that can come up with WLS.  This is the internet, that is all it is. You know me here and no where else.  No need to judge me!  Do I drink, yes once a week maybe and I love to escape my life when I do, Do I think I have a problem NO!  I am only 10 months post op lets get real, I can have ONE drink.  There are no rules here on what we can post and what we can not.
With that being said Happy Hour is about 1 hour away and yes I will have a drink tonight and I will toast to this board and all the WONDERFUL people on it!
Thank you for all your concern and your lovely e-mail

Dan that is a great post. I tend to forget that I am a special person. then i go back to bad habits that would not be ok with me if i felt special. for most of us, we need to be reminded of our specialness over and over again every day for a very long time before it becomes a natural thought that we wake up with and go to sleep with. i was feeling bad today and wasn't facing the reason. if i believe i am special, that means i have to face the reason and deal with it in a healthy way, not a destructive way. sometimes it seems easier to be asleep then to take the wheel.
