Long overdue update on Baby Gia Makaila

Hey everyone,

It has been a while since I have updated you guys on my sweet little angel Gia.

I took her to her 6 months well visit last week and she weighed in at 12lbs 12 oz and measured 24 inches long.  She is the size of 1 or 2 month old baby. lol But she is growing great she is a petite happy little baby girl.  She did great with all her shots and recovered quickly 3 days after getting them.

Ok so 2 days later I took her to Children's hospital for her follow up with that incident that happened in June.  I was a bit upset because we had taken her in July for a follow up blood work and the hospital dropped the tubes and broke them. It was very upsetting becuase it took them 5 tries to get 3 tubes. Then one tube that was not broken they sent it to the lab 3 days late so they couldn't perform the CBC.  Anyway so since we have to travel almost 2 hours to get there I decided to wait until her next appointment for the blood work again. Which was on September 10th! 

I nearly passed out when I got a call directly from the Dr at special Immunology becuase normally we have to wait 2 weeks for the results and I have to contact the RN in that department. My knees got week and I felt like I was going to pass out thinking she had bad news for me. 

Well she told me I have wonderful news her blood work is negative again and I believe that Baby Gia is going to be just fine!!!  We will require one more blood test in 3 months and then we will not have to test her again. I was in tears thanking God that my baby is alright.

I have not heard anything yet from the Tech's blood test. It still kills me inside I need to know. There is tons of red tape and the attorney is fighting it. 

I want to thank you all for all the love, support, pm's, messages and prayers that we haved received.  I am grateful from the bottom of my heart.

Look how big is the toy next to her. Can you all believe that she is still using her 0-3 months clothes! She is now just getting into some of the 3-6 months clothes and most fit big. lol I really wish she would stay this small forever. sigh.... She is such a blessing!

Thank you so much for the update and for sharing the delightful pics. My fav is the one with the big grin. I am so glad that this last check-up and blood work were positive. You deserved so much to get good news!

Cira, I'm doing okay. Still having good and bad days. For the most part I'm pretty much recovered other than twinge and pain once in a while round the area that was full of adhesions. I was told I could go on OTC acid reducer and yada yada and started with horrible ulcer symptoms a few days ago so i started on Carafate and am back on prescription acid reducer. I'm still horrible nauseated and vomiting some days though. I started with iron infusions on Tuesday and ugh I had a nasty nasty flu like ache and pain the last 2 days but its eased up some but still having to take Tylenol regularly.

I'm struggling a bit emotionally I must say but I finally reached out and found a therapist to talk to because I don't see the weight loss and it's effecting me greatly. It's just been a really rough road and I need some help before I take some behaviors that are making things worse too far. Soooo I have. It's done okay so far I've had 2 appointments and really think this is gonna help.

OH yea planning our next trip for up there probably for February/March I'm thinking just depends when Di and the girls have spring break or have time off (I know our schools do a winter, fall, spring and every other break when they can LOL). :) I hope to be able to meet up with you all.

YIPPEEEEEEE!!!!! Glad to hear the joyous news!!! She just gets more beautful with each picture I see. What a beautiful smile, and those gorgeous curls that most people would kill for! I'm glad to hear that she is doing well, and that the docs remain optomistic.

Kathy I am beyond happy right now! Thank you for the compliment on my little munchkin she is definitely a delight to have. Those curls give me a work out! I have to fight with her to get a bow in her hair. lol
