Questions.......

Hello. I am not new here.....I have been gone for awhile......and I am still interested in surgery. I have went from insurance that would not cover surgery to no insurance to maryland medical assistance. Since I have medical assistance, I have not read many posts on here regarding coverage. Does anyone here know the policies for surgery with medical assistance? Any & all input would be great!

Where have you been? I am so glad to see your post. 
I am sorry I don't have an answer to your question. I think you should post on the insurance board to see if anyone that help you with any information on med assistance.

   Well....I have been busy! My family moved back in February......my job went from extremely BUSY to non existant.....my youngest daughter wrecked an ATV going 40 MPH & was hurt.......my oldest daughter is having an extreme shoulder surgery & now just found out she is graduating a year early ( yeah a 16 year old graduate going to college! Do I feel OLD?????).......my husband...well lets just say thats a touchy subject right now! Theres been alot going on! After I was all hyped about having the surgery & then got let down at the last minute, I really crashed.....I went into a pretty bad depression. It took me some soul searching to realize that no matter what (surgery or not) that I am still a beautiful person no matter what weight I am! I am still very much interested in having it tho.....I am still determined & fiesty about it........
I just realized where the people who truly understand what I am going thru are.....RIGHT HERE!!!!!!! Thanks for the comments & I will be sure to keep in touch this time & not hide.....I have gotten my spirit & my strength back, so you will be seeing alot of me!

I have MD Medical Assistance Priority Partners, and I know they cover it 100%.  I'm still unsure of all of their requirements (waiting on them to be sent), but I do know they require 6 months supervised weight loss program.  I'm working on that right now.  If I find out anything else I will let you know.

Thanks so much! If you could keep me updated I would greatly appreciate it! Did you just call PP direct or did you go thru medical assistance? I want to call but I am unsure of who to talk to & what to say exactly.......after being screwed over by a true HMO I am a little skeptical!!!!!

I called PP direct and asked them if they cover the surgery, and they told me that they do cover it 100% with approval (of course).  Now, Upper Chesapeake Bariatric is dealing with them for me.  They are getting all of the requirements from them, but they did tell me that I needed the 6 months supervised weight loss program.  I will absolutely keep you updated. 

Again, Thank You! I did call them today & got some information.....not much more than what you had said.....but thats a great start because it was not a NO! I also have been calling to find out which docs accpet this insurance.......anybody have any suggestions or recommendations?

Medical assistance should cover it completely my sons girlfriend  did it , and i must sat she looks great
