I am done with the dingbats
f--ks up then they can pay to have the piece of **** removed. So I won't be on here as much I wish all of my online obesity help friends the best and I will miss you all and thanks for all the help that i recieved from you all. If I get the lapband i'll be back and i know in the long run this friggin device probably won't help me lose what I need to lose. Maybe if i get my jaw wired shut it would work. Anyway good luck to all in your weightloss journey maybe someday i'll be able to do it too. Sorry to dump on my friends for this dumb **** but at least my friends on here are compassionate, more than I can say for these ripoff insurance companies. Bye for now.
So sorry for the ignorance of Insurance companies, when will they realize that by doing this you are trying to do something not only good for you for them also in the long run. I sending good thoughts for you and prayers that things can somehow turnaround for you.
My brother had lapband last November, lost about 70 lbs., had a few problems and had to have some of his fill removed and gained back a little over 10 lbs. but has once again had some fill put back in. He said that if he had to have them go in for any reason, such as slippage or removal, he would do RNY if he could.

"The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you"
My husband had RNY on August 19 and he has lost 45 pounds since that day and is feeling great. Iknow you were not keen about GBS but maybe if you can chat with Gino it might help because when I had surgery he told me he would never gave weight loss surgery. Then he saw how great I was ddoing and my diabetes was gone and he then started looking into the lapband. Then when he got all the facts from the information session and his consult with the surgeon he chose the RNY.
I am sorry they denied it again. Wishing you all the best.
(((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Dusty,
i'm sorry too that your appeal was denied. It has to be an impossible pill to swallow. I'm so new here to the board so I'm not familiar with all you've been through but I'll keep you in my good thougths.
I can go either way to convince you that your outlook can still be a huge success. I too started out reseraching LB and my Dr. even suggested it. But after more research and talking with other health care professionals as I went through my pre op testing, I chose to go with RNY. Is that not an option for you? It is such a personal thing. All I want to say to you is, don't let this get you down. Keep positive, there is a reason for all of this and you will come out on the other side a winner, just not the exact race you thought you were going to be in.

Is there another level of appeal? If so, I would appeal until you exhaust all the appeal levels.
Can you take them to court? People do this frequently.
Have you tried to apply for credit to use toward surgery? There are companies who specialize in this.
Are you able to save for self pay, either here or with a surgeon in Brazil like Dr. Baltazar?
Can you change to another health insurance company? That's what I did when Optimum choice denied me. I went with another job and got Aetna.
I hope you are able to somehow get the surgery you prefer and to lose the weight for good. You deserve it.
