I was in GNC today and I saw that Isopure drinks have 40g of protein. Does anyone know how these taste? Any info would be helpful!

Thanks,
Lauren

Hi Lauren,

I tried them before surgery and I was ok with them, but after I had surgery they made me gag. I had to dilute them with water and ice to tolerate them. I could never like them again. The only flavor that was a bit easier for me was grape and I still had to dilute it.

Buy one bottle and see if you like it they are pretty expensive to buy them and not like them.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

They aren't that bad.  Not like drinking something *good*, but not terrible. However, I found them easiest to drink if I mixed them with SF Hawaiian Punch.  So I'd put 1/2 Isopure and 1/2 HP in a sippy cup and drink it that way.  Each sippy was 10 grams of protein (1/4 of the bottle).  I only ever tried the fruit punch (red) flavor. I think it is called Alpine Punch.  If GNC doesn't sell them individually, I believe that the Vitamin Shoppe does.

I bought a couple of these yesterday at Vitamin Shoppe - the Grape Frost and Apple Melon.  They had individual bottles in the refrigerated area.  They really aren't bad.  I've been having about 1/2 a bottle at a time over ice.  Tomorrow I'll be sending hubby there to buy a case.  I actually find them easier to drink than the protein shakes right now!

Hi Lauren,  I like them with lots and lots of ice!  My favorite flavors are: Passion Fruit, Apple Melon and Grape.  They really help me reach the daily protein goal. I agree with Cira, you should probably try 1 bottle before investing in a 12 pack.   The Vitamin Shoppe lets you break open the 12 packs and mix and match flavors. Also...Make sure you get the zero carb version. I know that GNC carries both the regular and the zero carb and I almost bought the regular by mistake.  Peace and Blessings, -Antoinette

Hi Lauren!!

I loved the Isopure drinks - MUCH easier to drink than the gaggy protein shakes I was trying.  Cira's right though, they ARE expensive, so don't buy a bunch.  If it hasn't already, your taste and smell preferences may change.  In fact, they get downright weird!!!

Like everyone else said, though, be SURE to drink them cold and Toni brought up a great point that there are several different "types," so make sure it's high protein/zero carbs.

Hugs,

T

Thanks everyone! I think I might get the grape to try. And definitely have it cold and over ice!

Thanks again,
Lauren
