Stop worrying, first and foremost.  As soon as your procedures are over this afternoon, you will begin to eat again and reyhydrate.  You will feel normal within a few hours.  The iron pills will help your get your iron levels back up; however, it may take a few months to do that.  I had to have 3 iron infusions last April (one time per month) to get mine back up, then started the iron pills and now my iron levels are perfect.

I just had my colonocopy on Monday so I was where you are now just a few short days ago.  My first meal after the procedure was like pure heaven.  You will be just fine!

Ok Here's the story,, it is 9:30am Friday, I am scheduled for Endoscopy and colonoscopy at 12:30 today My last meal, vitamins ect was Wednesday night dinner 5:00ish. Because I had to "prep" all day Thursday, I could not eat or do vitamins, I was on MASSIVE amounts of laxatives starting at noon Thursday, I tried to drink my Crystal light all day to keep fluids up,, but my sugars went dangerously low early this am (2:30). I called the doctor doing the endoscopy, he suggested doing some hard candy to raise blood sugar,, BUT I COULD EAT NOTHING. NO PROTEIN SHAKES.

Here's my problem,, right now I am so damn weak it scares me,, walking back and taking a shower has wiped me out. How do I go about getting the nutrician back after the procedures? The last time I felt this bad was 20years or so ago when I got food poisioning from a bad crab. It took me almost a week back then to "recover" and that was when I could eat and drink much more.

What really kind of ticks me off,, Dr A feels the anemia is from the RNY, and put me on Iron,, (which I can't start until after the procedures today) if this is the case and everything comes back normal today,, I went through this for nothing. Now don't get me wrong,, I really don't want them to find anything,,, but damn this sucks feeling like this. I am not hungry,, but NOTHING going into my system for almost two days has left me so pitifully weak it is scarey. Oh I have lost 8 lbs since Thursday morning before I started "prepping"

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom

My sister and I went last night to the free support group for bariatric patients more than a year out.  I have to say it was EXCELLENT!  By far the best support group meeting I have ever been to.  They have other meetings and you can find out what they are by visiting their website:  http://www.thebodyimagecenter.com/

Hello,

I am sorry I don't know of ayone that has had the rose procedure. Have you tried posting on the revision board or the main forum? You might a response from someone that knows of it or has had it.

Wishing you all the best.

Have you tried going back to basics and doing the 5 day pouch test to determine if yiu really need a revision?

Hi,

Hope you are feeling better..  In my experience with my patients  if there are spikes in the BS and it is not related to diet there usually is some type of underlining infection.   I have even seen a simple cold, UTI etc cause a elevation in the BS prior to the patient having any symptoms.   The next question I have are you on diabetes medications?   I am also curious what time of day are your BS low/elevated.

get back to diet plan~ 5-6 small meals a day. avoid sugar/simple carbs, and eat the complex carbs and proteins that we are supposed too. my pcp diagnosed me with hypglycemia and it was due to me eating once or twice a day. i got back the the basics, and i feel really good again.

also remember, drinks can be culprits too if they arent the right ones.

Mary you need to get outta my head. This is getting scary!

I heard of LA Boxing. It says its a 1000 calorie workout. That scares me a bit. Let me know if you find anywhere good.
