Ohhhhh Angela you are very welcome. This brings tears to my eyes to see that I can at least pay it forward to others.  Support is very important to have through this journey and I am so glad I posted my updates.

Wooo hooooo girl Congratulations for working your tool.  You are going to do fabulous.  I am going to do the 5DPT one more week. So the weekend I will continue the high protein low carb but Monday I will start over to remind myself to always go back to basics when the carb monster tries to come back.

Keep me posted ok?

Hugs,

Cira

Cira...thank you for inspiring me to get on track. Im proud of you as well.....we all need a reminder like this. This is our tool...not a cure all. I feel restriction like after surgery.....I LOVE IT!!!! Our tool works when we work it. I also feel much more energy and happiness. I was feeling discouraged and depressed before. I wanted to lose 10 more pounds and was feeling extremely run and had no motivation.....you and this pouch test has kick in gear and made me relize that "I CAN DO THIS" I CAN WORK MY TOOL..........THANK CIRA!!!!!!!!!!!!
YESTERDAY IS HISTORY....
TOMORROW IS A MYSTERY....
TODAY IS A GIFT!

Topic: Ready to self-pay for VSG - need recommendations

Hi, I am finally ready to self-pay and want to have the VSG by 31 March 2011.

Johns Hopkins charges just under $18000.00.

Am curious what other options there are in Maryland/Virginia area.

Thanks!!

Sheri

I would call the office and ask.

I would try to get in a diet liquid for the next two weeks so that you can lose 4 to 5 pounds.   You can do it if you really try.   But I know that some doctors will cancel surgery but not sure of Dr. Mo.

Good Luck and keep us posted on what the dr's office says.

Today has been a fabulous day.  I must say that I have not been hungry all day.  But I have to eat my protein and drink my fluids.  I am getting full quickly and I have major restriction.  I am following the diet to the T.
There has been moments when I sometimes feel like getting a slider food in mouth but not as bad of a craving as it was on the first two days.

For breakfast I had 2 strips of turkey bacon. Left over Tilapia from yesterday's dinner for lunch.
A protien drink for mid afternoon snack. I had Salisbury steak and lettuce for Dinner.

I have lost one more pound so I am super happy.  So four more pounds and I will be back to my normal weight.  ;)

I am sorry for the late update. I have been so busy.

Have a wonderful night!

I am just really nervous because I have my third month appointment with the COMP center 1/20/11 and this time it is with Dr. Mo and not the nutritionist and I gained 3.5 lbs last month and think I have gained this time too.  Am I going to get a tongue lashing by him or worse be in jeopardy of not being approved?  Please help me with some answers.

Oh my goodness girl I am so proud of you for trying it right away.  Make sure to drink some coffee do not stop it cold turkey if you drink coffee everyday.  You can have coffee it tells you there on the site.
Congrats on the 3 pounds! Yippeeee send me a daily update on your progress and how you feel.

Woooo hooooooo! I am so glad that a few has been inspired to go back to basics!

Do you feel restriction today?  By the way try the Tilapia recipe that they have there on the link I gave you for day three. I made it yesterday and I loved it.
