What a long way you have come in the past nine months!!
Congrats on your sauces - and much healing to come!
Thanks for the compliment!
I attempted this journey 3 years ago, but at my last NUT appointment, knew I wasn't ready.
Now, I know that I am ready.
Initially, the NUT was talking about RNY. However, during my 6 month requirement, I lost enough weight (40 lbs) to be considered for Lap Band.
I''ve read up on both. Still don't know.
Once I meet with the medical staff, I'll know more.
Also, you will be there before you know it.
I attempted this journey in 2007, but chickened out at my last NUT appointment. I just wasn't ready for it. Three years later and a lot more research, I now know that I am.
I am so glad to see your post. I have been wondering how you were doing. Congratulations on your FANTASTIC weight loss. I am sorry that you was having such a hard recovery from the hip replacement. It a relief to hear that you are doing better and recovering nicely.
Take care and I wish you all the best.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hello all! Sorry to have gone incognito of late! I had VSG on 02/08/10 so Monday will be my 9 month anniversary. I'd lost 34 lbs pre-op and as of last week I've lost 75 lbs post op. for a total of 109 lbs!
Some of you may remember I have osteo-arthritis in both hips, so I've not been able to walk as exercise, much less use equipment such as bicycle/elliptical. So imagine how much I'd have lost if I could've exercised! But I'm not complaining, I'm amazed how much I've lost! And to think I resented my ortho surgeon telling me I HAD to have Weight Loss Surgery or I couldn't have Hip Replacement Surgery.
I finally lost enough weight so on 7/26 had my left hip replacement surgery. I disappeared off the boards while recuperating. I was having trouble with the new hip though, it dislocated 7 times post-op and the decision was made to get me in for a revision hip replacement surgery 10/18. Although not typical, my prothesis had fused to the bone and the femur shattered trying to remove it. So now I'm wired and plated as well as a larger titanium prothesis. But I'm healing and so far, so good... No dislocations and although more extensive, there is actually less pain than the first! Unless I'm just getting used to surgeries this year and the drugs are doing a better job than last time!?
Take care everyone. I hope you're all doing well and that you're staying the course to better health, weight and happiness!
(edited the lbs lost since surgery because math is not my forte'... or I could blame the pain meds, yeah... it's just the drugs!)
Sylvie, I love this post! Is it only a WTF Wed, or WTF any day?? Let me know because I am storing them up! LOL Hope all is well these last couple of days, relish these last few days/hours of peace and sleep. Plus if you ask me they listen so much better, now vs later! I loved having my c-sections, I had two and I remember the Dr(nasty) was so impressed with his incision below the hair line, that he actually had the nerve to say to me, it wouldn't be his fault if I couldn't wear a bikini in the summer! WTF!!!
XO, GOOD LUCK, AND I AM SURE WE WILL SEE PLENTY OF PICS, SO DON'T FORGET YOUR JEWELRY AND MAKE UP!!
