I feel like this is all taking so long.  I have cigna and must go through the mandatory 6 months of visits for  "supervised" weight loss.  I have 1 more visit b4 then I have to wait for Corrine to sign me off, and then they can submit for insurance approval.  I understand all these hoops that you have to go through, but boy am I really tired of it.  I still cant lose the 23 lbs they want me to lose either. Anyone have anything that can help this time go by faster or at least make me feel better.  Thanks. Missi

Hey Missi, I know exactly how you feel. I have fiserv health and they too require the 6 month diet. Im only on my third month so Im worse than you, lol. Does that make you feel better:) Another thing is that I work at CMMC with Dr. Loggins in the Operating Room and I have to see all the people that are scheduled for surgery every Monday and Wednesday. That is sometimes the hardest. Im very happy for them but at the same time I can't wait til my name is on the schedule.  My last nutrtion appt. is only on Jan. 2 so at least I get to go through one more round of holidays. The pre-op weight loss is going  even though not as fast as I would like, but I dont want to lose too much because I dont have any co-morbidies so I want to have a BMI over 40 just in case they look at the weight after the diet and not just the original consult weigh in. Corrine agrees with me and 10 more lbs and I have to do weight maintenance til the insurance is sent out and then I want to lose 10 more pounds to be 215 on surgery day. At least thats my goal.  Just think about a "healthier" you and hopefully the time will fly by... Cristy

I thought I had no co morbidities until I asked corrine and found out that even though my bmi is 39 now, I have 6 comorbidites, so maybe you should find out if you have any.  Hopefully all will go well and Crystal says maybe December.  I hope so because the holidays are going to be awful to try to maintain any weight loss.  Missi

The only comorditie that he had listed was the pyscho/social factor of obesity. I guess he lists that for everyone thats obese. She said that most insurance won't use it as one though.  Its ok  I know they go by the National standards of 40 BMI so Im still there..... Corrine was talking about not  losng too much weight in the next 3 months and I laughed and told her the holidays were comming and she would not have to worry about that. Even she laughed at that. Hope to see you at one of the support group meetings between now and then. Are you going to the pre-surgical one on Tuesday? Cristy

Hi Missi,    I know it seems like a lifetime ago when you made the decision to have the sugery.  But before you know it, you'll be looking back on this part of the process as a distant memory.  It took me a year to have my surgery and I remember feeling like I had been waiting forever.  Just remember...anything worth having is worth waiting for and worth working for.   Keep the faith!  Your almost there!! Blessings, Yvonne
