Gas 2
Are you really able to go back to driving a school bus a WEEK after MAJOR surgery??? Cut yourself some slack woman! Heal up! You're not even to the point where you're likely to get some fairly intense left side pain. Mine hit at 2 weeks and lasted until 6 weeks and it felt like I was being stabbed in my side over and OVER again all day long, and especially when I moved! You don't want that happening while you have 50 plus children in your care! Give yourself a little bit before you decide to go back to work! Your body has been through a lot ... cut yourself some slack!
I'm glad that the gas has gone away! I can't believe that you got down 3 ounces in the hospital. They had me take a tiny sip and that was it. Then I was allowed to drink one ounce of water every 15 minutes for the next few hours. That was it! I wasn't allowed to even have water (not even to brush my teeth - - until day 3!)
It's amazing how different surgeons are! You can have soup - where I had to wait until week 3 for that - and you can get 4 ounces down in 30 minutes. I was on that one ounce every 15 minutes for the first 2 weeks! It really is interesting how different docs are!
I bet you're one of the lucky ones that didn't need to do a weekend of liquid diet or the horrible "bowel prep" the day before, right? LOL
