ok, here is the question.  this might not happen, but if it does I want to be prepared.  We have tickets to go see the red sox on April 9 & 10th.  so I deffinately don't want to have surgery the wed before, because of all the walking and such, we are taking the train into Boston.  so!  If I have it, Or am able to have it on March 26, this will be 2 weeks before the games, do you think I should wait till after the games or do you think 2 weeks should be enough?  AND do you have any suggestions what foods I should bring for hotel and convienience.  Powders, jello tomatoe cup a soup????  I really want to have it ASAP, to get going on this.  Ps. last year I had my hystorectomy and went to a game 6 days later, and I was cut !!! wasn't too bad, got taxi's and everyone was great waiting for me.  thanks

Maybe get some of the protein bullets and plenty of water. Not sure about the tomato soup. I think the beef and chicken broth would be better. I know things like tomato are not on the approved foods early out for RNY patients not sure bout the band. At 2 weeks you will be able to start having a little more food. pureed maybe bring some little jars of baby food?? Good Luck hopefully you are able to have your surgery in plenty of time to be feeling a little better by game time. I would also ask Corinne and see what she has for additional things you might want to bring.

ahhhh, baby food, didnt' think of that, great thanks, I was expecting people to say NOOOO don't go before the game.  I really think I can do it, as long as its 2 weeks, one week is pushing it, especially since there are 2 games.  I will ask COrinne if I do get that date.  I"m hoping they can get me in, seems like Lap BAnd is not as popular as RNY so they might get me in quick,  but I find that RNY gets in quick too.  so ??? we'll see.  thanks

I was fine after my 2nd week.  Everyone is different though...but I felt fine, had energy and was not too sore to be down on the floor playing with the babies or walking around. You can always stick with protein drinks for the hotel.  Bring some pre-made sf pudding containers (no need to refrigerate) and some any whey.  Add a scoop in the room and have protein pudding.  (I didn't like proteins in my soup...but that is just me). If you are on the pureed phase you could also bring canned tuna or chicken, or those individual containers of unsweetened applesauce.  I looked at baby food (because we had lots left over here) and they were all quite high in sugar...I was shocked actually).

i'm 3 weeks out today and am feeling pretty good. i don't think i'd have enough energy for a game though. driving to work poops me out still. but everyone is different. also, bearing no complications, you might be ok. just be prepared for something to happen. i'd honestly wait and enjoy that last outing and being able to eat the yummy park food. your life can wait a week.
