It seems like things are just flying by.  I have started to pack for the hospital.  I have packed some of my stuff for at the hospital.  I have the lip balm, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, (easy stuff).  Question though,  I have heard that because of the gas you are actually larger when you leave the hospital than when you arrive. In your experience is that true?

I've read that on the message boards too!  And you weigh more when you get home because of all the fluids they give you!  Yikes!    Are we going to be allowed to shower in the hospital? (I wasn't planning on shampoo and stuff...should I?)  I got my lip balm and my ipod!  What else could I need?   (just joking! of course!)    Ruth

HI everyone.                Periods and showers.. hehe shampoo and conditioner wont be needed I do believe no shower with tubes in... have to wait until those are out and your home.. I loved my body wash , the smell and softness of it, I washed up in sink wet my head down to feel fresh,   YOU can brush your teeth, , and I did it many times.  Baby wipes are awesome to keep refreshing while your in bed. but  you wont want to stay there much, it feels better to get up and move , move the gas pressure.           I didnt get bigger in hospital, just bloated feeling.  the  hospital, supplied baby shampoo, baby powder, I think a pack of wipes too,  toothpaste and brush,  soap.  and it was johnson johnson. OH and even chapstick  .. I was surprised..  EVERY TIME I have had surgery I have started my period  wether it was due or not..  and its nooooooooo biggggggggg deal..  even with a catheter, pads  are fine.   baby wipes are nice for that.. too.    I used the portable lap top in the hospital to post I was done surgery.and going home.  they are on line and portable.   I only used my  pump the first time i got up.  but I have a high tolerance with a bad back. so I may be different. ITs there if ya feel ya need it.               Have a great day girls!!!  so excited for all of you!! SCented Blessings  Allicca p.s.   I did find that     you should WATCH what they bring you,   read your book what you can and cant have.. as  the hospital has new staff  or  the food dept. may not know  your restrictions and its important you know what you can and cant have.. even if its offered to you.. no straws no ice  sudden temp change.. etc.     dont want anyone getting sick....  If in doubt ask DR. T or call the center from the hospital..   no questions are dumb questions.. When its your health and well being.   Happy spring sunny day..

I havent started packing yet but I got all my travel size stuff, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, travel tooth brush and toothpaste (not like it will help this ketosis breath, ew) some lotion, Im going to pack some baby wipes just in case for some reason I cant shower.... I really do NOT want to smell some funky... Tonight (Peggy you already know because you were in on the convo), I found out apparently the stress from the surgery and catheter (sp?) can make you start your cycle.......and I was due for mine around the 16 or so anyway, which means IM going to start it probably during surgery or something. How awful is that?!

Someone over in the YouTube weight loss surgery community who just had her surgery says baby wipes are a must, as is chapstick! She went through half a tube I think! LOL

no shower til you get home. you can wash up daily and they provide soap, wash cloth, etc. no brushing your teeth either. you can do that after your leak test. that was the hard part for me. my mouth was so icky.

only a few more days!!! hang in there.
