Hi all. I am on all liquids for the next two weeks and I don't seem to have any trouble with getting my protein shakes or other liquids down. My throat is very sore and I have pain at my port site but other than that I am ok. I expected to feel much worse. Should I feel anything at this point as far as my band is concerned?

Good morning Bridget. I was done on April 21st.  I have felt stomach pain since day one, but has gotten better and better daily.  as of today, almost all gone.  Just a little port discomfort.  keeping up with daily BM's important to me, I get belly pain if I don't.  my throat never hurt, maybe you are catching something, or might just be irritated from surgery.  I didnt' have a hard time drinking or eating anything.  only once when I ate a scrambled egg, it went down hard, I walked aorund a bit and after 10 mins, I was fine.  You will be so happy once the 2 weeks are over, and then on to another stage, and then y ou will be happy that is over too.  I get to go on reg. food on MOnday.  Im' so excited.  did you have any spacific questions to the band???

Is your stomach pain at your port site or just general stomach aches? I think I may still be a little numb because there is just pulling pain aroung my port. I have some serious rumbling going on but no gas or gas pain yet. When did you first notice a difference with the band?

my stomach felt like I had done a million sit ups. just muscle pain.  I did have some gas pain but not much.  a sharp pain in my shoulder once in a while, but only for 3 or  4 days.  my port was sore, tender to the touch, a little twinge now and then,  really nothing bad, the worse was getting up and down out of bed, and turning from side to side.  as for noticing a difference, "YOu mean to eat" I don't notice nothing yet, and probably won't for 3 to 4 fills.  I asked on the Band forum how many fills does it take to give you restriction and after about 20 replys the general replay was 3 or 4 weeks, I get my first fill on June 3rd, I can't wait.  cause I can eat as much as I did before surgery.  I am counting calories to make sure I don't gain weight.  my nut wanted me to eat 400 to 600 cal a day, and I was starving and it was making me make bad decisions, so I personally upped it to 800 cal a day.  I am ver content and comfortable.  although I have only lost 7 lbs. since surgery.  where alot of other bandsters have lost alot more, I am not exercising as I should, I really need to be motivated.  I guess it will come.  I have home construction going on now, before that it was winter, I can come up with more excuses, I"m the champ. hehe....dr. told me some patients dont' even need a fill the band is enough restriction.. are you on clear liquids ?? or full liq.

try some reduced fat cream soups, strain if neccessary, I had some broc and cheese cream soup (strainned) and thought I was gonna die it was so good, I licked the bowl, lol  I was very hungry, Jill my roomate, and fellow bandster was not hungry for a few weeks.  I could have eaten a steak. hehe...keep up the good work, that is probably why I didnt' loose as well.

Dr Loggins is awesome and so is corrine and the entire staff. He just tells me its under but everyone loses different and he says don't give up.That he will get the right amount in,it takes more fills for some.I'm feeling the restriction now. What a difference.I went thursday for a fill and in 6 weeks i lost 4 and he said not to worry cause minimum is around 6 lbs so not bad.As far as getting fills hes wicked fast.I call on tuesday and he can get me in usually on thursday...Don't get discouraged though. You'll get there

that is wonderful, I am going on june 3rd for my first fill.  he was goign to wait till july 10th and I was quite upset, it was so long.  I'm happy now.  I know it will take several, how long between fills? 6 weeks?? I thought I read that.  how many calories do you eat a day Wendy?  COrinne wanted me to do 4-600 and I just can't do that, so I'm doing 800-1000, mostely 800ish...I was bad yesterday, i'm back on track today and going for a walk, I am making a go at it this week. enough of being lazy,  wish I have one of you guys close by so we could walk together.  I don't go into Lewiston often, and when I do it is during the day when everyone is working.
