Wendy, I only lost 7 lbs. post surgery.  the rest was pre op.... was easier then I  think, I feel more hungry now.  I'm really confused with What Corinne told me.  she told me to have 400-to 600 cal. a day.  I am having between 800-1000 tho, I can't do less then 600.  I'm not loosing weight now, I was wondering if its due to exercise, or too little cal. or too much.  I just got to figure it out.  will start walking this week...Again....

Bridget, have you gone to the Lap Band Forum?  there are alot of questions and answers and I"ve learned alot there.  I don't post often, I am a lurker there.  My true support gals and friends are right here.  there is beginning to be more banders here, so that is great, but we are all newbies so It is just nice to hear from experienced bandsters.  if you have any questions ask away, I will try my best to find out or will ask there and we can learn together.  good luck

WEndy, just go to the top of the page and there is a list of things, like HOme, People, Photos, and FOrums, just click on it and go down to Lap Band, if you go down to MORE you will find tons of more subjects... some you don't want to go to...good luck

Do you people know what size bands you have? I have a band that will hold 7cc , my dad has a band that will hold 10cc, right now I have 1 1/4cc saline. Also I was told by my dietician that she has heard that a lot of Lap Band people have problems with scramble eggs. I do the only eggs I can eat is over easy, scramble will not go down for me. I know I couldn't wait to go to soft foods  and try a scramble egg and wouldn't you know it I had the hardest time getting it down and to this day I still can not do it. So when you are able to go on soft foods and want to have a scramble egg just take it slow. You want to be careful with your fills you don't want to much of a fill that in a day or two after the fill you can't drink water. Sometimes it takes a few days for it to start working. Also the weather will affect it and higher altitudes for example when we went to Canada my band was tighter than when I was home. I can have the same food 50 times and the 51 time it could get stuck or have a harder time with it. And I see the same thing with RNY which my brother and his girlfriend has they may dump on something that they didn't dump on before.

Hi, my throat killed me after surgery, they had a very hard time putting the tube down my throat. And I had a lot of pain at my port site, and trouble sleeping. All I can say it does get better. The port pain does go away. Every once in a while I will lean up against it and I will feel a little pain but not much. The fills don't really hurt,,, I am a big baby with needles and it doesn't  bother me. Take care and don't do too much ~ Linda

I had surgery on April 21st and just had more incisional pain than anything for the first couple of weeks.  I then started to feel some weird feeling on my left side once I started sleeping on my stomach.  It was in the mornings but then went away.  I haven't really started to feel deprived of food up until just recently.  I did have an episode the other day where I ate some canned chicken too fast and did not chew enough.  I was in a lot of pain for about 10 minutes, and had some foaming up in my throat.  I tried to make myself throw up but only a little came out.  I learned my lesson on that one. I do still have some pain at my port site, and can feel a lump.  I hope that this lump won't always show.  I also have my first fill appointment on June 3rd.  I just started regular food yesterday.  It has been fine.  Scrambled eggs for me are fine.  I have one scrambled egg every morning for breakfast, a small yogurt for lunch and then a small dinner.  I also have 2 of the profect protein bullets a day.  I mix them with water, one at 10 and one at 2. Just remember to really start walking.  I think that the exercise is going to make a big difference.  I am going to join curves tomorrow and go 3x a week, then walk or bike ride the other days.  I have lost 19 lbs since surgery, and am starting to feel a lot better. Hang in there, I don't know why your throat would be sore. Jill
