OMG, we're going nuts here, DH just bought, our Wii game, and put a bid on Ebay for the Wii Fit.  I got my dgt and MLM's xmas gift on line.  oh, boy.  I got wrapping paper at Marden's yesterday, neighbors gift, some stocking stuffers.  I'm on a roll now...  I'm pretty much just starting, but only have a few to buy for.  I don't get my DS anything, he is adding up his birthday and xmas gifts for a laptop, its been 2 years so far.  DSiL, needed money to register his car, so he is done.  I need ideas for parents and DS's GF.  oiyyy, they drive me nuts. parents don't need anything, don't go anywhere.  blah blah,  ok, enough yakking, sorry..

My husband is like 5 years old when it comes to Christmas.  He CANNOT wait for presents.  He would open every single one Christmas Eve if I let him.  So he was always jealous of Hannukah and getting 8 presents.  So we do "Chrismakkuh" (it's totally made up).  So for the 8 days leading up to Christmas we get one present a nigh..but they are like stocking stuffer presents ($3 or under).  So during the year I find Old Navy shirts etc marked down to a buck and put it away for Chrismakkuh.  We put all 8 presents in a bad and get to pick one out each night and open it.  My mom even enjoys doing it with us each evening.  And this year the babes will do it to.  It's just something fun and little we do.  I always forget when I write it that no one would know what it was lol.

What a wonderful tradition.  Do you realize those kids will be talking about this till they are adults.  My kids are 27 & 30 and if we need to cut back on gifts for one reason or another, they always say,  do what you need to do, but "Don't Give up the Socks".  Now DS's GF and son in law, they never had Socks and get all excited when its time for them.  lol, I have fun getting stuff for them and always put in a variety of things, fun things, candy, socks, jewelry, gift cards.  usually cost me about $100 a sock,  but well worth it.  now I just need someone to make me one that isn't 8 mascara's and 8 deodarants.  No creativity on my DH part. lol,  so Tanya, enjoy and have fun and make many many memories.

Those are some expensive socks...I wouldn't want to get rid of those either lol.  Isn't it funny how much thought we women put into things like this and then the men just seem to do whatever works.  I shop year round and have my eye out for Chrismakkuh presents.  I can get a $20 polo shirt from Penney's on clearance and with a coupon for 2 bucks...there is one gift.  Meanwhile the day before Chrismakkuh starts my hubby will run up to the dollar store and just pick out 8 things.  Geesh.  I gave him an earful about it last year, so hopefully he will put some more time into it.  Heck you can get a ton of cheap stuff at the Christmas Tree Shops.  The socks sound fun!
