Ok, I called the Plastic Surgeon back and we talked on the phone for about 10 minutes.   He briefly explained the procedure, he emailed me an estimate (which is good for 2 mths, holy cow!)

Body Lift (Fleur de Lis)   $6500.00
Fat Transfer to Buttocks     500.00
Surgiclal Facility                1000.00
Anesthesia Fees                 700.00

Total is $8700.00 (no Personal Checks or Credit cards accepted)

I def don't have the cash, so not sure what will happen.   Will have to get a loan from the bank or speak with DD & DM.  Holy Cow, why couldn't the RNY be this quick!! This is just too fast for me!

Interesting.....will you have a belly button with this? I don't know why I'm obsessed with not having a belly button.

How does this compare with www.obesityhelp.com/forums/ME/a,messageboard/action,replies/ board_id,4823/cat_id,4423/topic_id,3659802/

I don't really know anything about plastics.....

Yes, I asked him about the belly button. He would make a fake one (reconstruction)  Also I would leave with Drains and  he would instruct how to remove myself (not sure I like that)

As for Jules' post.  I think the lower body lift covers a bit more than the abdominalplasty.  But I think I might get a consult locally and see what they say.

I don't know what it would cost  around here exactly, but it would be a whole lot more.  I am going to get a consult here and maybe see if insurance will cover.     Cash only does sound a little fishy, doesn't it?

WOW- plastics are a cash only deal.
DS spend much of his young life being teased about his ears- kids called him dumbo. We had to pay up front- fully paid by the date of surgery. Our insurance considered it cosmetic and didn't pay a cent. They would pay for his counseling?!?!?, but not PS- go figure that one!

Life isn't fair!

No that isn't fair!!  I bet you would get it covered today, though.   I hear some people getting the plastic surgery covered due mental issues surrounding the diformities.  For instance my breasts are not symettrical so I bet I could get the breast lift covered if I fought for it.

I was told my 2 dr.'s that if I wanted my breast done i would be covered because of my neck surgeries and problems,  BUT, I don't want a reduction, I want a reconstructive surgery.  so I'm not even willing to try.  If I had to spend a cent on this I would feel so bad.  TOo much other stuff that is important.  My kids college loans, DD could use a car, DH, wants to retire early at 55 and has lost so much in stocks.  I can't justify NICE TITS???  maybe someday??  NOt that I don't think about it, but, a good bra is much cheaper.  also, if I was single, it would be so much different.  My old man still loves me the way I am, and I just stay away from mirrors.  I'm so jealous of you guys who will do it tho...  You go girl !!!

I thought you said this dr. called from CA, I thought you were going to Mexico???  You'd think CA would be more expensive then Maine.

Good Luck, hope you get what you want,  keep us updated.  I just noticed you kekid picture was still on my desktop, I gotta delete it before the boys open it.  they would start wondering what their mama was up to... hehe

The doctor has 2 offices.  One in San Diego and one right across the border in Tijuana, Mexico.  He does the surgery in Mexico.

Yes, delete that pic right away! LOL  Don't want to scare 'em  LOL
