Weather rant and last minute Dr. appointment

The State of Maine offices were closed until noon. I got to go back to sleep and catch a few more winks. Leisurely got ready and headed out at 10:30 for the hour ride to Augusta. I was allowing extra time for slipper roads. Though in Thomaston we had no icy roads- just rain. The closer I got inland the worse it got. I arrived at 11:45, not bad. I get into my building and find out there's no work after all!  At 11:20, or so, they cancelled work for the State.  Too many afreas without power. So back home I drive after a few errands in Augusta....... 2+ hours in the car and no work-   grrrrrr

So on the drive home DH phoned me and tells me I have an appointment Monday with my primary physician. I phoned the Dr. I don't have any sick time left, can they see me today since I'm off of work? Yes.  Yahoo!
He is pleased with my weight loss, blood pressure is good, protein in my urine- have to do a 24 hour pee collection now.  To have the lab deterimne the kind of protein it is.  So the good news is he's pleased with my progress and I can remain taking the 3 prescription meds I am taking, down from 8 pre surgery.

That really stinks that you had to go all the way to work to find out they were closed!  What a waste, n'est-ce pas?

Congrats on your MD appt though!  Sounds like everything is going well!  Wonder what the protein in your urine is about?  hmmm...please keep us posted!   Amazing how many fewer meds you are on!  Congrats!  Bet you are feeling SOO much better and healthier!  And Dh is right there with you!  WAY TO GO!!   

Wow sucks you had to drive all the way in but how cool that you could go to your Dr visit today instead, Hope all works out with your tests!

Pain in the butt about all the unnecessary driving but awesome news with your PCP...

Nice feeling being off all those meds...that one I can relate to 

The NUT started me on B-12 Dots...and I have vitamins and calcium to take but none of that even comes close to all the meds I've been able to "get rid of" !!
