Hi everyone,
Thank you all so much for the well wishes it was so nice. I have to say I am really sore, but other than that I am great !!! I have been sippin and walking around. but I am tired. I ate some cream of wheat in the hospital and no problems. I am now trying to figure this all out. I know I need to get in all my fluids but how do you possibly find time to eat anything when you are always sipping. I am almost done with my protien shake this am but I am afraid to drink to fast. I have been drinking this for over an hour so far. I am going to cook some sweet potato for later, maybe I should put some unflavored unjury in it. Anyway it is nice to be home and thanks again for all the well wishes.

Welcome home! and welcome to the loosers bench.

I had to get out a kitchen timer when I was first home to be able to figure out when I could drink and when I could eat.  Lucky you, our program does liquid proteins for the 2 weeks post op.

Her program is a blended/liquid diet for 30 days, so I am pretty sure that Dr Wolff isn't aware of that.  Maine Med isn't good about the meal thing.  I was brought a full meal to eat  turkey mashed potatoes etc. I  said Uh, NO! I can't eat that!!

So glad to hear you are home and doing well.  I have not yet had surgery but we have to do 2 weeks of a liquid diet when we get home.  You're lucky you don't have to do that.

Our diet is very loose, everything has to be blended, it needs to be the consistancy of fine applesauce. I don't really feel much like eating anyway. I am supposed to be sipping all day because it is much more important to get the fluids in than anything else at this point, plus I am afraid to eat too much afraid I will get sick. Taking it slowly..

Oh!  I don't think cream of wheat counts... unless it was really really watered (milk) down.  You may want to check on that.

Unless they have changed things since I went through the program.  But welcome to the other side!  And take it easy. I kind of forgot you were having surgery right before the skating party. So don't feel you have to come!  Don't pu****!!

glad you're home and on the mend. make sure to get protein in first. it will save on the hair loss later. water is very important too. i remember falling asleep with a bottle of water. i'd wake up enough to sip and then back to sleep. good luck and get lots of rest.
