So I have gallstones. My OB/surgeon recommends getting my gallbladder out and my High Risk OB (due to being pregnant so early out) has referred me to Dr. Cobean. I just want to get opinions from people who have had him do their surgery as to his personality and how he montiored you after your surgery.....

Any info would help.

Thanks,
Melissa and baby!

Hi Melissa!

I had Dr Cobean for my RNY, he really knows his stuff.  He is very matter of fact, so don't be offended if he is not all touchy and feely and voices his opinion on being pregnant so early out. But I can't think of a better surgeon.

Good luck to you!

Hey Melissa...Just wanted to ease your mind a bit about surgery.  I had my gall bladder removed when I was about 8 or 9 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby.  I too was concerned with undergoing anesthesia and the surgery itself.  My OBGYN assured me there was nothing to worry about and he was right.  I felt soooo much better after having the surgery and no more horrible cramping/pain from the stones to interfere with me and the baby.  It is really better to have the surgery now before the baby starts pushing things around and gets crowded.  I would hate for you to have to have an emergency surgery.....good luck.
