Hi Carolyn
My name is Kathy and I noticed that your taking Centrum Chewables. I was told early on that they do not have (I think it was) Iron and they are not chleated mineral vitamins. I now take Essential Life by Country Life vitamins plus Calcium Citrate with Vit. D. This is what my nutritionist told me and at my last blood test everything was great.

I'm 11 months out and I've been doing this for a long time. Monday, Wednesday & Friday I have a cup of yogurt with AnyWhey. I usually have a piece of fruit with it. Tuesday & Thursday I will have leftovers from the weekend breakfast I fix (omelet or pancake with an egg) or I will have a South Beach Diet breakfast wrap. On the weekends, I will usually make an eggbeater omelet with a bit of deli ham and a piece of Aunt Millies 5 grain light bread.
It's kind of boring but low fat and low calorie.

I'm a senior post-op (a little over 6 years out).
Generally during the week I eat the same thing. My breakfast usually consists of 1/2-3/4 cup of cereal with skim milk. I like Fiber One cereals and I like Grape Nuts. Once in a while I will have Honey Nut Cheerios. The cereal usually fills me up.
Sometimes I will eat 1 egg white with two pieces of Morning Star Farm vegi bacon (or canadian or turkey bacon) on one piece of whole grain bread or a whole wheat english muffin. I am usually ditching the bread mid way through my meal because it's just too much.
If I eat a mid morning snack (which is really rare for me as I do not like to snack) it's a piece of fruit or a small yogurt. I tend to eat a lot of bananas because I get leg cramps really bad and I am trying to compensate.
Oh I almost forgot, I go to the gym at least 4 days a week and once in a while I will drink one of their protein shakes as a meal replacement. They make them right there on the spot so I can see what's going into it.
As far as the vitamins and water goes, you'll get there. It's going to take some time and some tweaking to see what works for you, but I promise, you'll get there.
Hi Sherry,
I'm afraid I'm not eating enough for breakfast. I try to get a protein shake in. Sometimes I add yogurt to the shake. On the weekend I tried some Turkey sausage. I could only get one 2 oz piece in.
I know I'm not getting enough food in. I'm lucky if I get 500 calories in everyday. I do get the liquids in though. I'm just not hungry.
Hang in there,
Joni
Ok it must just be me... breakfast is near impossible. I can't touch cereal with a 10 foot pole, which is bad because pre surgery, I loved cereal. I am almost three years out and all I have for breakfast is coffee. =\
I can't think of food for typically 3 - 4 hours after I get up. I use to roll out of bed just to eat before, so I guess it's ok. I usually then am ready for more lunch foods, so I lean towards salads or chicken salad with veggies in a bowl.
