I am just over two weeks out from surgery, and By the diet the docter gave me I am now on soft foods. I had a scrambled egg about an hour ago, I couldn't fini**** which is not a problem, but now I hurt. My chest has a lot of pressure, and I feel kinda nausous, but haven't thrown up. Does anyone here have an idea of what I did wrong? Is this what happens when you eat two fast? or don't chew enough? I also keep burping.

I wouldn't bother you all, but this is really painful, and pretty much sucks.
Any ideas?

Thanks

That happened to me twice when i ate chicken.  Either i ate too fast or my body doesn't tolerate grilled chicken but I eventually threw it up.  (the second time ?I assisted myself) and got some relief.  I am chewing slower now and I am not eating chicken for a while.  Feel better

When my chest hurt like that it was either that I ate to fast or did not chew enough. Sometimes it is also that you ate to much. Everyone is different so you kind of have to figure out what the problem is and you will be able to tell that pain in the future.  Starting drinking some water to get it moving through your system. That is the best advice I can give you.

From everything that I have read...there are people that have problems eating eggs, no matter how far out from surgery you are.   If I were you I would wait a couple of weeks before trying them again. I have been fortunate...my pouch likes eggs and I have either egg salad or scrambled egg with cheese for breakfast. Also for what you can do now...well just hang in there.  Again, there is not much we can do for an upset pouch except wait for things to pass and then baby it the rest the day(eat things you know will settle) Good Luck Carolyn

Thanks, I will try them again soon, but not today. I really wanted to have today be as easy as the full liquids were, but I guess I am out of luck. I think I will have something liquid for lunch though, I just don't want to eat anything right now.

Hopefully my pouch will like eggs later.

Hi Jenny,  I know this can be frustrating especially when you finally get to eat real food then it gets stuck. I used to do the samething and as someone else mentioned, It is from eating to fast or not chewing well enough. Something you can do to get your pouch to relax a little to help the food go down it to make a nice cup of HOT tea and sip on it slowly.  It isn't normally recommended to drink when eating or soon after but when your food is stuck sometimes you have to find a way to correct it. If all else fails, you can always "get rid of it". It isn't good to leave your food stuck for to long. I know this was an early post, but the verying advice that everyone has given are good things to remember. Not everything works for everyone. Good luck ......remember chew....chew...chew and chew again....LOL Boy, That is about  the only thing I don't miss about being a newbie
God Bless and Take Care.....Toni
