Thanks everyone for your responses!  Nextbigloser, I noticed that the insurance information on this website is not updated either. It sounds like your surgeon should be able to get BCBS to waive the 12 months. It sounds like you need to get into surgery right away! Let us know how it goes

Your doctor can write a letter of medical necessity to BCBSM asking for the 12 months to be waived.  I have heard where they will waive that 12 months based on medical necessity of the patient.
