Done! Your Ticker:
You should be on liquids for two weeks, then graduate to soft foods after that.....didn't you meet with a dietician before surgery??? Don't eat raw veggies now -- you'll be sorry.

Topic: Eating real food again
Hello again I am officially 7 days post op and just curious when can u start just nibbling normal foods again. I am definately going to eat healthy but even some veggies or something would be nice all I am eating right now are shakes, pills, vitamins, and water any thoughts. I am really excited about this process and not trying to whine just curious about how the diet progresses and ready to start eating healthy. :)

I went to the seminar on March 15 and had surgery on May 14. Course I scheduled all of my appts on the same day so didn't have to waite weeks between seeing the surgeon, phych eval and PCP Dr in their office. Only had to go back once for a visit w/ a nutritionist based on my insurances requirement (Empire Blue Cross of NY even though I lived in MI) Once the office submitted the paperwork my insurance had a nurse advocate call and let me know I was approved 3 days later & Dr. office scheduled me w/in a couple of weeks.

Hello,
I have Aetna. All three of my kids also have had surgery this past year. For me, I started the process in September 2008 and my surgery was March 2009.
My daughter started the process in November 2009 and had surgery May 2010. My two sons started the process in June 2010 and had surgery in December 2010.
Do you have to complete a 6 month physician supervised diet as part of your requirements for approval? ONce insurance approved, the process went very fast...surgery within 4-5 weeks from the time of approval.
Hope that helps.

Topic: RE: Hi
Kajun,
I'm so sorry to hear your having problems. I can get you some names of plastic guys in the Detroit area if you interested. To be a bit more personal, did you have saline or silicone? From what I've seen of those that had saline, most went to silicone. They said it looked and lay-ed (?) better.
As far as anyone telling you how fast or slow you took to grieve after your dx, I say pis-haw, until they face it they can write all they want, they don't know ****!
If there is anything I can do to help you through this, I'd be happy to.

Good Morning everyone =) I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday. I am just curious how long it took after they received blood test results did it take for your scheduler to contact the insurance company and then call you with a surgery date? I am so anxious it is killing me =)
