YEA!!!! There is a support group that meets in Brooklyn every 2nd Wednesday of the month @ the All Saints Church on Main St. The correct address is 151 N Main BROOKLYN, MI 49230 This is open to all people in all stages of weight loss. Which is great news! I talked with the groups leader Lori. She sounds very nice and has gone through Bariatric Surgery herself. She started the group because she couldn't find one when she was going through the early stages. Anyway~ She said all are welcome. It is at 7pm and they try really hard to keep it at one hour long. I will be going to the one on July 11th. Mark your calender, I know I will!

I went there for a consult back in 2003 and i found it to be very dirty...the garbage cans were running over with trash, pop cans all over the floors and the furniture was dusty.  The medical assistant that took my blood pressure had no clue what she was doing!

I will say..the doctor was very nice and he spent alot of time with me.  I would have gone with them if it wasn't so  dirty.


Again, this was back in 2003 and its probably better now

I learned it in my health and nutrition class in college. I am working on my masters in public health. Also as far as replacing the water after the coffee it is word for word what my surgion told me 4 weeks ago.

The one at the church hasn't been active for sometime. So there isn't a formal support group in Jackson. Well one that isn't related to a specific weight loss program like ww or jc. Like I said there is a barix support group in Brooklyn, MI on main st. There is a need for a support group here though. I just started a group message board for those of us in and around Jackson County, MI. This group is open for any dicussion where it relates to weight related problems.

 I know they USE to say that coffee dehydrated, but believe they now have changed their position on this. I will have to look this up more to see what I can find out because there is NO WAY I can or have been getting in 136oz. of water a day to replace the coffee I have been drinking for the past year ! Do you know where you seen that it is a proven fact or how long ago it was written? Just curious.
