Topic: RE: coffee
Coffee does dehydrate. That is a proven fact. One thing you can do to combat any dehydration is for every 8oz of coffee that you drink you should replace those fluids with 24oz of water. so if you are drinking 32oz of coffee a day you shoudl replace it with 72oz of water not including the 64oz you should normally be drinking. that would be a grand total of 136oz of water a day you should be drinking to retain the hydration that your body needs.

Topic: RE: Barix Clinic
I went to Barix in Ypsi, had RNY with Dr Pop. No problems until a a partial bowel obstruction at 3.5 years out. He did a great job fixing it. The staff there is great. Send me a message if you have any questions.
Topic: RE: coffee
I started drinking decaf coffee 5 months before I had surgery and I still have it every day. I don't miss the caffiene I just really enjoy coffee. I've just ordered Click's Decaf Mocha protein powder. They also have the full caffiene version. I've heard nothing but good stuff about it and since I like coffee both warm and frappucino's I can't wait for it to be delivered.
Decaf also counts towards your daily liquids :)

I had great care there But there was nothing in the way of helping with he psychological aspects. Vthose are the hardest and if you are already having some issues, you will need supports with this. I encourage you to seek a program that is comprehensive for this reason

Topic: RE: motivation and staying on track
well, the food is always a struggle for me but i always get protein in, just need to cut the carbs down. i do better than a lot of ppl cuz it raises my sugar and who wants to take another insulin shot anyhow?? my drivers license shows a great pic of how i looked a yr post op and is great motivation. my pics of my wedding show the b4 pic and also reminds me of how i dont want to look. both are good to keep around.
i cannot stress enough that almost more than food, exercise is key. i would eat a lot of not so good choices but exercise daily and still lose .5 lbs per wk or at least maintain. right now its hard to get out and get up, but i walk the dog park cuz its my happy place and my boxer loves it. so its really more for him than me, so whatever gets you moving really.
