Topic: RE: Make room on the losers bench........
That is great news!!
I am hoping I will finally have surgery sometime this year! I have done everything on my end. I was just turned down by Hurley Medical in Flint. So now I am looking into going through the Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti.
Dr Poplawski said he doesn't see a reason why I shouldn't be able to do the surgery, so we'll see.

Topic: RE: Looking for people in Jackson area
There is a barix support group in Brooklyn, MI And that is the only one I am aware of. I am seeing a psychotherapist who works with bariatic patients I see him today so I will ask him if he knows of any support groups/meetings that are close to Jackson. If so I will post on it on here. But either way I will let you know.

Topic: Barix Clinic
Has anyone had any experience with one of the barix clinics? I think that they are the only one willing to do my RNY due to my past mental health diagnoses as a borderline personality. (Which I am more than stable with.) I have met with Dr Poplawski at the Forest Health Medical Center in Yipslanti. And He has experience (obviously) doing the surgery and said he has a low complication rate. But I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with a barix clinic and had a positive outcome and outlook. And also, if you have dealt with them, which one was it and who was the dr?

I just called the church, this group isn't meeting there anymore.
Topic: RE: coffee
we had a speaker at our wls support group at the center I go to that did reaserch about coffee and cafine.
the out come was that ifyou drink caninated coffee you should drink added water in the amount of coffee to your usual 64ozs
but you my notice a few of us have protein coffee each day
recipe; make a slury of one scoop of protein to dilute it then add your coffee to it.
w e make a slurry of the protein first cause if you just add it to hot coffee it will clump.
Then I add splenda and some nondair creamer to it.
So that is how I feel about coffee.
Of course I never did coffee before surgery now it is a must have.
