4 years post op - kinda
I just realized i am 4 years 2 weeks post op from my first surgery, ....oh.... I have so much to teach you all
...no, not really.
Even though I was not as successful as I would have liked, I have learned SO much since then, I've pretty much experienced every complication possible - nothing too major thankfully.
What has helped me the most is finding some amazing online resources and long term successful post ops who have really helped me....mostly Michelle Curren (Vitalady)
I am still learning since my revision and feel at peace (most days) with where I am. I am never going to be 120#'s, and I ok with that since I don't have as many health problems as I did before. My major issues is that pesky hypoglycemia, and anemia (had that pre-surg). Those are my challenges. And I figure things could be much worse.
If I could offer one, make that 2 bits of advice, I think exercise and vitamins are key. I know plenty of post-ops get by without exercise and get to goal and that's great. And there are post-ops taking Tums and saying their tabs are perfect and that's great too...I just know what I know and have seen what I have seen. And know long term, there will be health consequences to not taking the right kind of vitamins (that is vitamins that can be absorbed by post-ops).
I love having this board to come to and hope to get out and meet more people...just gotta work on not being so shy
thanks for reading!
