Anyone w/ BCBS of Ill.?

I am SO beyond frustrated with the insurance approval process. Why must we have to go thru all the hard work we "think" the insurance company wants/needs only to get denied? I am so bummed right now. Apparently I just haven't been fat long enough according to them.

Anyone else have Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois PPO that has been approved for weight loss surgery??

Oh so sorry you are having trouble with insurance.  I DO NOT have BCBS of IL.  I have BCBS of MN and was approved first request as a light weight.  I'm waiting for my date.  Sure hope you get some help here. Lillysummer

I have BCBS/IL.  Had surgery in June.  But they made some deal with my employer because I had been approved before we switched to them last January.  One of my friends at work is trying to get approved through them right now but is having difficulty getting cleared by psych.  I believe their qualifications are a record of being over 40 bmi for at least 5 years and then a supervised 6 mo. diet.
