I NEED ADVICE!!!
Okay, my friends, help me figure THIS one out!!!
I have always been your stereotypical horse-crazy girl at heart! Went riding every chance I could growing up, and I must say, I was a pretty good rider for not having any formal training.
Just kind of a natural rider. Only I came to realize about 17 years ago that ME getting on a horse's back could be interpreted as animal cruelty.
So, I haven't ridden in THAT LONG.
My daughter is also a stereotypical horse-crazy teen, and she's taking a Horse Science class this quarter. Their class is going RIDING tomorrow for a few hours. She just CALLED ME to say her teacher would welcome a few chaperones, and did I want to go riding with them???
DOES A BEAR DEFECATE IN THE WOODS???
I'm so TORN right now!!! I mean I'm still in the 240's, but the permission slip I signed for her last week indicated up to 250 was fine! Still, I have this fear - of a scene like one from America's Funniest (aka MOST HUMILIATING) Home Videos, where the horse just FOLDS under the weight of a big woman? I WOULD DIE!!! But to have an opportunity to go riding??? That's something you don't get every day!!! I SO WANT TO GO!!!
But I need your HONESTY - right here, right now. Do you think I should? Or should I put it this way - WOULD YOU GO FOR IT???
