Simple Food Ideas

Anyone got ideas of simple dinners I can make with just a few ingredients and salt/pepper?  I have a few bowls and pots and pans, stove and microwave.  I can't figure out the oven so I don't use it.  I don't want to buy a bunch of spices as they are expensive and I'll have to throw away what we don't use.  Suggestions welcome, I'm out of ideas. I meant that I people watch while I sip my coffee.  I only have a tea kettle here so it's instant coffee except when I get my one cup at Starbucks.  You can learn alot about how people live by watching and learning.  A female is a Sheila and a male is a bloke.  Goss or Hot Goss is gossip.   

How about an omelete?  You can add anything to it and make it a little different!  How about some chili?  (try it with ground or shredded chicken and cannelini beans..yum!)  You could always make a stew of some sort too..... How about poached fish or seafood....there must be quite a bit of that down there!   Of course there is always peanut butter sandwiches.... Jeanne

We have eggs, Peanut butter and jelly and chicken down to a science.  Lots of salad and fruit too.  I don't like fish or seafood, but it's so warm here it didn't sound to good. They just did a thing on tv tonight comparing food prices here to New Zeland and the US.  Australia was highest priced every time.  Thanks for the suggestions!
