Shannin Update - 4/2 - Long but Detailed
Shannin,
I'm so sorry to hear you had to go through all that you did! You've been a TRUE inspiration to me since the first time I saw you!! And you continue to be!! You're not crabbin' about this "setback", just picking yourself up and moving on...in TERRIFIC Style!!!
You've got LOTS of CLASS!!! Thanks SO much for all you give to us!! You TOTALLY ROCK!!!
Hugs back at you!
Ann

Shannin, so glad you're doing so well after your "ordeal"! I've had adhesions in the past that caused problems, and I've had adhesions that went undetected for 7 years - it took Dr. Jones to get in there the day of my WLS to clean me up good! But I wouldn't have realized it could happen a couple of years post-op! It's good to know all the possibilities we may face, I'm just sorry you had to be the one to share this! I'm sure it's a hard call, when to "buck up" and take it, and when to seek help. No one wants to appear the hypochondriac! Take care, take time to recover and heal, and don't be a stranger!!!

Shannin - so glad to hear that you're doing better and got very good care at Methodist! It sounds like quite the ordeal, but everything went as well as could be expected. Your post is so educational - thanks for sharing every detail - it's good to know what could happen and how to recognize it if it does. Prayers that you continue to heal well - and I agree with your doc - take it easy and don't pu****!
Love ya - Tracy
Oy! That's some crazy stuff you went through. I'm glad you are getting better. What a sucky thing to go through. But, you caught it before it got too bad. So, that's a good thing. Get your rest this weekend. I know it will be tough due to how nice it will be outside. But you need to heal.
Hugs,
Lori

OMG, Shannin, I am so glad that you are okay! I had blocked intestines last summer and it certainly wasn't the highlight of the year. I didn't have to have surgery, mine released itself after 5 days. You poor thing, I know it was so painful. What a way to start Spring. I read your most recent update and that you are doing better and walking, which is a very good sign. I agree, your weight loss (and overall fitness) definitely contributes to quick healing.
Hope to see you soon at a PNC support meeting!!
