Don't know what to believe.

sweetpea... it is my understanding that acid reflux, depending on how bad it is-and you are on meds...that's not to the advantage for a lapband.  the lapband may actually make it worse and cause ulcerations or worse.  the rny is similar to the surgery that they do to eliminate/resolve GERD and acid reflux.  that is why most rnyer's have good relief from heartburn and those symptoms.  but it would ultimately be up to the surgeon and their clinical expertise. barbara
