My 'mum-in-law' is very ill.

My mum-in-law was admitted to the hospital right after Easter.  She didn't come to the house for Easter supper because she thought her ulcers were acting up. It turns out her kidneys had shut down and the toxins were building up in her body, making her soooo ill.  (Her kidneys are attacking themselves. The docs have no idea what's causing this.)  She is now on dialysis 3 times/week.  The docs have given her until Tuesday to decide if she wants to take their recommendations of totally erasing her immune system and getting massive doses of Prednisone (and having maybe 1 and a half years left to live) or doing dialysis for the rest of her life--maybe 2 years at best.  Anna is questioning what her quality of life will be with the first alternative.  Dialysis she can live with.  Her preference is doing things organically, with herbs, which OF COURSE the docs dismiss right off. I think she'll probably go the herbal route when she is discharged from the hospital. Okay--the point of this post is to ask ya'll to keep Anna in your prayers. She is not afraid of dying. Her best friend is Jesus!  She is in the process of making the decision--but she is afraid of burdening people for rides to dialysis, as she does not drive. I and others have told her that providing rides is an act of love!  My prayer is that she not suffer tremendously through this ordeal. I have offered her one of my kidneys--I have a spare!--but she flatly refused.  She knows that to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord. I envy her!  Not only will she be with the Lord, but she will be reunited with her son Dan, my beloved, who died from cancer almost 15 years ago. So, that's my story. And thanks for the prayers I know you guys will say.  You are the best. (((HUGS))) **SUE**

Thanks, Carol, for your prayerful support. My MIL is an awesome lady, very strong and righteous.  I think the worst part is being nervous of not being able to handle the pain.

Sue, Well she sounds like she knows what she wants. I will keep her in my prayers. It's so hard watching someone we love go through health issues that are life threatening.  Take care, Kelly

Thanks, Kelly, for your prayerful support. My MIL is going through challenges that she does not want to 'share' with her family---like having massive nose bleeds due to the blood thinner, and not wanting us up at the hospital. But she is an amazing woman!
