Digestive issues post surgery ? CAUTION- Graphic
however, I can honestly tell you this: While I didn't have RNY, I had the DS, which supposedly has more issues than RNY as far as gas/poop goes - FYI: this is a myth and not true, it's been proven the issues aren't any worse with DS than RNY - with that said...I haven't had ANY issues with gas or poop...in fact, it's been consitpation I've battled....and gas? You'll figure out your "triggers" and either avoid them or time them to coincide when you can "let loose".....
I did have to figure out triggers as a pre-op too and time them accordingly so this isn't a bad thing IMO
Good luck to you whatever you decide!!
ETA: I don't regret my decision a bit either...it is a personal decision though and I know how hard it is to make...so I really do wish you well
Pooing is more of a challenge. I do have to make sure I am getting enough fiber, but I'm not as regular, and my time in the bathroom is definitely more "challenging." I keep mineral oil and MOM in the med cabinet, and if things aren't moving on their own within 3 days from last movement, I take a shot of something. It's that or end up impacted, which really sucks.
I don't get nausea. I do get pain if I eat too fast, and/or too much. My own fault there.

Here's my 2 cents from someone 5 years out....
The only tummy issue I deal with is constipation and you do figure out what works for you. I eat Fiber One cereal everyday and take Miralax and try to keep the fluids up. I don't fart any more than my husband does! The only time I was blowing the roof off was when I was taking Benefiber. I quit that and I settled down. WLS is not like taking Alli - I've never heard of anyone pooping their pants unless they were sick!
The bottom line for me is that I'd rather deal with a few poop issues than be 300+ lbs again. If it's the price I have to pay, than so be it. I'm no longer shooting insulin, have sleep apnea, my knees and feet don't hurt, I can cross my legs, I can buy clothes anywhere, I'm no longer hot when no one else is, I can fit in an airplane seat, theatre seat, any seat....the list goes on and on.
Put plainly, I'd rather be poopy than fat!
