With your supportive husband and friends, along with OH you'll get what you need after surgery with or without your immediate family.  They may come around once it's done, maybe they're just overly concerned about the risks.  My mom was for me having lap band, but way more concerned when I told her I was having RNY.   She was just being a mom and after surgery has been completely supportive, as have the rest of my family.   Like you said, you're confident in your decision, you're well informed, and this IS the right thing for YOU.

 

Hi Shannon-  It can be frustrating when Family is not supportive and most of that comes from not being educated.  Stay strong and positive.  You are making the best choice for yourself.  Kudos to your husband.
