No more hoops

As some you may know my wife and I had decided to both do WLS. Mary M is now 5 weeks out. I on the other hand got stuck jumping through several more hoops than her. Well, I have been approved by the BCBS for surgery. So, no more hoops!!! Now it's just waiting for the paperwork to sift down to the doctor so I can get a surgery date.

One piece of advice for all newcomers. Take your health in hand and research and call and pester your doctors until they can give you a satisfactory answer to what ever questions you need answered. Left up to them it will take you twice as long to get the process going. You are taking all the risks demand the rewards!

What great news, Michael! I'm happy that you will be joining Mary on the bench. My personal opinion is that weight melts faster from men, so maybe the powers that be just gave Mary a bit of a head start! Whatever the reason, I'm glad you persevered and have gotten the go ahead.

Glad to hear you are done jumping through hoops!! What a great thing to have surgery and have Mary one step ahead of you and she knows what to expect, suggest, and prepare for you. Also, you will both have each other to walk down this journey together! It will be like your own support group without leaving home! I'm sure you will do fine and I wish you lots of luck.

And yes, chances are pretty good you'll be getting a "man pouch" - which has been unscientifically proven to provide really amazing results!
