It feels good to be close, although I'll be revising it to 170i****hink.  Still need to get off some more. Am between size 14 & 16.   The chicken that worked for me in the beginning was rotisserie.  You might just want to stick to what works for now, chili is a really good one.    It's been a very long time since anything got stuck for me, you'll get past this phase.  If you decide maybe it's not just meat or you think it's happening too often, you should really call them.

Kristy - do you remember what it was like 122 pounds ago?  I have only lost 45 so far but I don't really "feel" different - I know I look different - but I feel the same. Maybe because I'm still 'obese' but I wonder what it will feel like 40 lbs from now - if I'll still feel like a fat person even though I see a thin person in the mirror.  I don't mean I feel badly about myself - I just think it's funny that I still feel like my rolls are huge and my gut is too big. Then I look in the mirror and I see that they have definitely changed.   I sound like a head case don't I?  Its not coming out right - but I just wonder if I'll ever be satisified with my body.  Maybe that's a woman's issue across all body types....

You are NOT the only one that gets hungry. I got hungry after my first WLS and now I get hungry after my revision. We're just not the "NORM" but that doesn't mean that there aren't other out there that are experiencing it. I get hungry everyday.

OMG - My name is Hungry!  Don't fret my dear - we are all different, but yet the same.  I'm 6 1/2 years out and I get hungry just like I did before WLS, it just doesn't take much to fill me up!

So hang in there...all will be well!

I've heard it comes back after a while - 9 months one person said. But I'm 7 weeks out and I'm thinking - gee - everyone else says they forget to eat - they could go all day without ever feeling the urge to eat.  I don't think it's "all in my head" either.  I literally feel different and then look at my watch and think - how long has it been since I ate? And it's almost always between 4 and 5 hours (sometimes sooner if I ate only a 1/2 cup of something).  I'll try not to obsess about it but it does make me a little sad... if it's happening now, I'll battle this forever I guess....

I was told that if you aren't drinking enough water, you get a "phantom" type of hunger pang...

It's not true hunger... its your body wanting water.  Even before surgery alot of the time "hunger" is felt by us but its actually our body trying to tell us it's thirsty. I was about as far out as you were and I kept feeling hungry... so I called the dietitian. She asked how much water I was getting in.. barely 30 oz a day.. She said push push pu**** to as close to the 64oz as you can...

Sure enough.. the "hunger" disappeared...

I'm 5mons out now and can guzzle water pretty good now.. and I still get the "hunger" pangs if its a bad water day for me.. but at least now I know its not hunger, its water my body wants.

Don't know how much you're drinking, but if you know its not a b/l/d time to eat.. try drinking water instead and see if it changes for you?

I think that's incorrect. There is such thing as hunger after WLS. I get at LEAST 64oz of water a day. No hunger lasted about 6-8 weeks for me post-op.

I have had 2 wls 3 years apart and was always hungry - after both surgeries.  I never had the sensation of full either, not like the majortiy of post ops describe

After surgery as soon as I went to semi solid foods and than solids I threw up steady for months I think it was 3 or 4 months, almost every meal I would throw up sometimes even just liquids I would throw up. I did end up going in 3 times for IV's for dehydration and twice I had a stricture. I believe that I was eating WAY to fast for one thing and having a stricture is quite common I believe for "us". I really had to concentrate on eating much slower. I was told to take 3 minutes between bites, that is a really long time!! After learning to eat slower and eat less than what I thought I should be eating I am no longer having any issues w/ throwing up. It has taken me over 6 months to finally be able to eat almost a cup of food, most of the time I can't even eat that much. Good luck to you, I know I thought I was gonna go crazy throwing up so much and my family felt so bad for me. But it sure is better now!! Hope that you call your doctor so they can maybe get you in for a Endoscopy and see if you have a stricture!!

This has been the best decision besides marriage and kids that I have ever made!!

Could it be a stricture already? huh. I didn't think that would be it because it's only with certain foods (well, new foods every time...).  but I wil check it out.  I honestly do think it's eating too fast even though it feels like it's so slow.  Three minutes seems crazy - but i need to start to count seconds off between each bite. If it keeps happening I'll call the doc.

And I know I'm not getting 64 ounces in a day - so maybe the hunger thing is related to that - I maybe get 40 oz.  I just can't drink fast enough and include that 3 hours a day (the before and after meals wait) to get 64 ounces in.  I will try harder - it's nice to have all the ideas and thoughts I get from you
