Support Group for Alexandria Lakes Area

Hi Everyone,

I just moved back to Alexandria from Texas.  I'm in need of a support group.  I'm only 4 months out of surgery and am not doing well since moving back.  Angels needed!  I know there is a wonderful group in St. Cloud but I see there are several people here from the Alexandria area.

Would any of you be interested in getting a skinny - decaf at Carbou Coffee?  Is so, name a time and day!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome.  I am actually a Minnesotan.  Everywhere I live (several different states) I was teased about my Minnesota "accent".  Anyway, I have tried living in 5 different states but I guess I'm a Minnesotan at heart.

I am actually happier here than I've been in a long time.  As I'm typing this, I'm looking out at a beautiful snow-covered lake, watching the sunrise and listening to the "silence" that only a fresh snow can bring.  Then, this charm and wonder comes tumbling down when I grasp the reality that now I have to go shovel all that snow!    Well, at least I'll be burning calories!

Welcome back to MN, Xena!   You got here just in time for the "cold snap"! 

I live in the Cities, but summer brings me to Osakis.   I'd love to join you for coffee then so let us know if you get a group together.  I am 6 months out today. . . what changes in such a short time!

My given name is Marilyn June, born on the first of June (Marilyn Monroe's birthday!).  Nickname as a little one was Juney, which worked into Tuney by little brothers and then morphed into Tuna.   The name stuck, and it is all I ever go by.  Not my parents first choice, or mine, but it's the only me I know after more than 50 years!

Too cute.  My brothers always called me toad!  They said it was because I liked toads and frogs.  I think they just wanted to be brothers....mean!

If you are in the Osakis area in the summer you should let me know.  I would love to get together with some other people who have had this.  I am scheduled for Jan 12th for my bypass.  getting really excited now.  hope to hear from you.  Sandy

Hi, Sandy.   Good luck on your surgery.    I was lucky because I only had 10 days from the time I decided to go for this until it was done.  No time for fear, only excitement!   And, no problems!

I'm still hoping a few of us can get together in Alex this summer.  I can't seem to get to the coffees here because I like to sleep on Sat mornings,  waaay too much.

I am near the Alexandria Area... but since there are not alot of people around here... and sterlingfyre is my mom.... we choose to go to st cloud to see everyone there (plus I need things at some stores down there every 2 weeks or so anyway).... You are more than welcome to drive down and meet everyone.... its a great group and I just cant devote any more time to going to coffees or support groups with my schedule!

Coffee is this saturday at around 9 at the caribou in front of crossroads center....
