Valley Fair Musings AKA, Are You GAME?
Earlier I posted about having a Valley Fair Date. We have done it as a group in the past, and I have organized it around my other job which has movie nights towards the middle of August. The idea was to start the day with coffee, car pool to VF, then return to Eden Prairie, then migrate over to the amphitheater for the movie night, then...if anyone has any energy left, head over to Brunswick Zone for the end of the day relaxation or libation. Of course many of the libators get started during the movie...but that's a different issue.
I have been asked why do we do the VF thingy on a Friday? The answer has always been because that's movie night and we can stay up as late as we want on a Friday. But herein lies the quandry. This years movie thingy is a bit different. First of all, the city has made the movie policy very tight. After working movies for 10 years I finally was given the opportunity to CHOOSE the movie! Problem is, they unchoose my first three picks because they are PG13! I had to choose a PG movie...okay that's fine I guess. I chose UP. My buddy Joe also picked one and they took his first choice, Road To Teribithia. My movie will be on August 6 at 9 PM. There will be a ZOOmobile from the Minnesota Zoo as a warm up to the movie. August 6 is a Friday. The road to Teribithia will be at 9PM on Saturday Aug 14.
So, if you want me to pursue one of these as an option, tell me honestly which way you would prefer it. Do you want to hit valleyfair on a Friday (take off work...stay up late) or Saturday, where it may be a bit more crowded and many people are not as inclined to stay up late. (Of course last year we did it on Friday and no one stayed up and out...but the year before we had a large group).
I'm just trying to get a feel for what people are thinking. I will gladly promote either option...or if someone else wants to take the reigns. OR, we could do this on a totally different day, skip the movie thing and just head to Brunswick after Valley Fair. Sooooooo, after all that, reply with:

Either sounds good to me.....But Friday would be less busy at VF.....
Your awesome to even plan this......Whatever day it is, I will plan to be there, maybe hubby too.....

My only input would be - some people like to spend the whole day AND EVENING at ValleyFair, and would prefer not to leave there for a movie.
You know me, I've gone both years and enjoyed the heck out of myself, but maybe just mention that for those who would prefer to stay at ValleyFair and skip the movie deal, they are certainly welcome to do so! Just need to factor that in when carpooling from coffee in the morning...
But Paul, I DO have one particular request. You, me, and the RipCord. No excuses this year. LET'S JUST DO IT!!! I'd like to cross it off my bucket list!
