TUESDAY WHATS HAPPENING!!!!
Wasn't yesterday a beautiful day? Even tho it was really humid the temp itself only got to about 86 here. Felt wonderful until you started doing stuff and then you found out it really wasn't cool.
I have had for a green house a metal frame with plastic over it for the past 2 years. Yesterday Joe was in the process of taking it down. Not too big of a job and I helped him some. I couldn't do a lot . I feel great but was so weak that I couldn't stand for very long , I kept getting to feeling like my legs were made of rubber. When I was in the hospital . Marge , one of Dr. Hornbostels , assistants had told me that I could probably start my protein shakes on Tuesday if I was doing ok.
Well I remembered that and said well I am going to jump the gun by 12 hours. I made a protein shake and drank it over a 20 min. time limit and within about an hour I was feeling so much better. After about 2 hours I was feeling like my muscles had some strength to them again. I had sipped a small drink of it to start with and waited about an hour before I drank the rest of it to see if I had any side effects from it. I didn't so I drank the rest of it. Yesterday I also got in almost all of my fluid requirement too.
My neighbor ask me what in the world kind of surgery did you have that you are up and around so good so early. It is just a week ? She couldn't believe how good I look and move around.
Sometimes it makes me wonder too lol
I sit and watched a nest of baby wrens leave the nest yesterday. They were so cute. Their little topknots of still spiky feathers on top of their heads. They were in my front window box and I had a close up view of them leaving . Never have seen all of that so close like that. I was just on the other side of the window in my bedroom and they were on the outside in the window box. Front row seat.
We got a wonderfully refreshing rain yesterday afternoon , late. Rained for about 2 hours. Got about a half of an inch. Made a lot of difference in whether we have to water some things or not. It also dropped the temps and of course the humidity afterwards was so cool and refreshing.
We sit on the back porch and watched it rain for most of the time.
I drove myself over to the small store yesterday and got Joe some gas for the tiller. I felt good being out of the house and out on my own .
Todd: Glad to see you are continuing to post here. That is great. So watching golf puts you to sleep. Lol It is sort of like watching paint dry to me too. I don't mean to insult golfers. And I am sure it is exciting to play but to watch it on TV. is pretty boring ,or at least it is to ones that don't play I guess. Ten weeks old huh? Puppies are pretty cute at that age aren't they. Have you started house breaking yet? That is a fun job for new owners of puppies.
Colette: You sound as busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Your house will surely look nice when it is done. What color are you going with. And yeah you wont have to worry about painting it anymore. That is the great part isn't it.
Yes I have planted the white Easter lilies. You have about a 50/50 chance of them blooming again. I have some that have and some that haven't . Some times it takes 2 or 3 years before they bloom. I think it has something to do with the forcing of the blooms to start with.
I don't know where Brenda is either. I was thinking yesterday that I would call her and see if she was ok.
Sky: so are you going to start trying to make that longer walk every day now. Since you know you can do it. I am working on getting around the block yet. I think as soon as I get to drinking my protein shakes daily I will be fine. The weakness is because of nothing in my system for almost 2 weeks.
Rachael: good to see you back from Neb.
So you haven't seen a decrease in pain and all since you started you B-12 shots? I was so hoping that was all that it was for you.
I would think being a mother of a football player would be sort of scary too. Is your mother doing ok about the surgery. Tell her I am doing great and Im probably a lot older than she is.
Melissa: Have you heard from Brenda? Is she doing ok?
Wow you had a wild and wooly week end didn't you? I guess you are glad to see that one over.
So did you get you're A/C fixed yesterday. I sure hope so . It is really hard to think that about 50 years ago not many people had them and how much they must have suffered with the heat.
Did you get any of the rain yesterday?
Lana: great to see you here .
I know you have to be busy because of the start back to college of all the students.
Great about reserving something at panera bread on the 11th. Don't know how many will want to meet with us but who ever is fine.
I know you are so very, very excited about your daughter moving. I know you will be close enough for week end visits now often wont you.
Yes God is more than good he is wonderful. I cant believe how well I feel. I keep having to fight myself to keep from doing things that I might not ought to do . For me there has been such a small amount of pain. Now I will admit on Monday I was in pain and I hit the pain button several times. But Tuesday morning I woke up with the pain so much less that right before they took me down for the leak test was the last pain med push I had. I decided while there that I didn't need anything else if it stay like it was or less. I could have had pain pills crushed or could have had a shot but I really wasn't hurting enough for that. I walked the hallways almost constantly Tuesday. Would only go back to room and plug in the iv. So it would get the batteries charged up again lol. Wednesday morning I was able to move around so easy and to climb up and down into the bed with almost no pain at all. The ride home wasn't bad as far as pain was concerned . Just the long ride .I know that everyone has their own pain tolerance level and mine is really high . Yummy on the squash soup . I am going to make some next week and then run it thru the blender so I can have it.
I hope that Angie made it thru surgery well yesterday. There is someone new we need to pray for too that is a Dr. Hornbostel patient . His name is Ronald. He is having surgery this morning. May God be with him and guide Dr. Hornbostels hands. I may call the hospital this morning and see about Angie and Ronald about noon or later.
Sherr: I am so sorry about all the hoops your having to jump thru up there. Was there so major reason you had to go there for your insurance or what? I am like Andrew. Dr. Hornbostel doesn't require all of that I don't know if I could have stood having to do all of that stuff. Sorry but surely it will all be over soon and you can get your surgery done soon. Will pray that someone gets their ducks in a row for you.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
Good morning Missouri,
I hope that everyone is doing good this morning...Today is a painful day for me...I called the doctor yesterday to please call in my pain medication and as of 530pm last night they had not called in my medication. I am hoping that I can get it soon. I had my co-worker give me my B12 injection today....I hope that soon it starts working quickly...I am so tired of feeling like I am a walking ball of tiredness....Well I am at work and getting ready to give shots to the new recruits. So I need to run.
Everyone have a very blessed day
Rachael
Rachael,
After one week of my surgery, I took sublingual(under the tongue) B-12 bought at Walmart. Also the doc recommended B1 just for the tired and worn down feeling. I did not feel that way but another lady at the support group had gotten really sick so they were recommending it. At first when I had to cru**** the smell got to me. But I have been swallowing it whole for a long time and I feel absolutely fantastic. I had my labs done and they were all perfect. My b-12 was just a tab bit elevated, but great.I now take B-12 3 times a week sublingual. still take B12 each day. Ask your doc? Colette
good morning everyone,
getting ready to go to work today. Just thought I would pop in for a little bit first. My day is full again. Car in shop getting repaired and will be a few days. Using the big old gas hog. (F-150).
Jan thanks for the email regarding my friend. I will tell her. Let me know the final amount if you can when you get it.
Hugs especially to everyone but especially to Melissa and Sherr through the difficult times. Just remember, God is always near. Melissa, it is very hard when parents get older and children have to step up to the plate. I find myself wondering what I will do as my kids are not close and hubby is having declining health. The issues are hard to face sometimes. I work with families daily who face these same situations. You are in my prayers.
Sherr- Hang in there. Sorry about everything you are going through. You are also in my prayers. Wish I would have told you about Doc H. before you went there.
Brenda, Brenda and Brenda???? Where are you. Hope all is ok. And to Sky, sounds likeyou have a nice walking trail.
Well, got to go. Check in later. Colette
Goood Morning Everyone!!
Jan its soooo great to see how good your doing. It just amazes me how well everyone is coming along after their surgeries. For so long I guess I dwelled on the negitive aspects of the surgery and the people that had complications. My wifes cousin had the Open RNY several years ago, 6 or 7 yrs to be exact and she had alot of complications and only lost 100lbs or so, she started at 550lbs. Come to find out once she was able to eat she never stuck to the guidelines of what to eat and not to eat and started over eating and I spose her pouch has stretched. Then there's my brother who had it done 2 yrs ago and he's lost almost down to his goal, only complication he had was a hernia, he said he went back to work to soon and prolly caused it then. It just amazes me how God works through this tool to lose weight. I was telling someone in church on sunday night that I had my surgery date and so forth and they kept telling me no no no you can lose weight without that, thats too dangerous and so forth, ugh!! I been trying for years to lose weight, i lose and then gain back more and more, forget it, God brought this tool across my path and Imma USE it
Weeeeell anyway, thats my lil rant for the morning lol It's been so nice out but like Jan said still humid. Sure wish we'd get a whopper of a storm with alot of rain, we need some rain around here so bad.
I got my Pre-Op packet in the mail yesturday, woot woot....my Pre-Op is set for Nov. 6th at 11am so now all i gotta do is lose about 25 more pounds and have the surgery done!! Come onnnnnnnn november lol.
Hmmmm where's Deb M. ?? She MIA again?? lol Her and I went to the same seminar, I think she has her consult on aug 30, thats next weeek.
Melissa I sure hope things are better for ya this week, seems your just a busy busy busy gurl, we've gotcha in our prayers.
Colette, do those B-12 under ya tongue taste bad?? Are they over the counter or perscription?? I wanna start lining up all my vitamins and such so I have them by the time surgery comes around, yeah its early yet i know lol
Sherr dont ya dare give up, keep on truckin gurl, sometimes that ole devil just likes to get ya discouraged cuz he knows your gonna be so much better after surgery!!!
Anyone heard anything about Brenda?? Hope she's doing good!!
Craig my sponge bob buddy....how's things going with ya???
Yeah Jan I'm gonna check into the vo-tech and all for nursing, I been wanting to do that for along time and well nows as good a time as any. After surgery and Im down some I wanna start to school or something so I can get off this disability and have a decent career for the first time in my life, kind of late but better late then never i guess.
Well anyway, Im gonna stop rambling for now, hope everyone has a great day.
Andrew

Hi anniversary buddy,
Just think, you are having it one year later on the same day ! That is neat. We will party, party and party. On water, soup, jello and popsicles. By the way I still eat a lot of sugar free popsicles. Banana is my favorite.
The time will go fast. By the way, that is great you want to go into nursing. I will tell you something you dont know about me. I graduated from LPN school at 46 years old. I only went after my six children were raised - the youngest was in high school It was a mutual decision between my husband and I that I would be a stay at home mom till then. This decision showed its worth as our children all have been a blessing and those days are memorable of coming home with me there. Then I worked for 2 years and went to RN school and was 49 when I graduated. When I walked across the stage on Graduation from the University, My children were there and clapped and Yelled "yeah Mom - you did it" By the way I had a GPA of 355. Not bad for a wife, mom and grandma. BUT I HAD TO STUDY HARD - and I worked as LPN for 24 hours a week. But God helped me. So I know you will be able to do it too and a whole new world will open up to you. We need more good male nurses too!!!!
Maybe you can get through in time to take care of me as I am the elderly one here. LOL. Take care buddy!!! Colette
Good Moring Everyone:
Well it looks like it is going to be another beatiful day here in Missouri. Yesterday was so nice out after it rained here. It really didnt rain much or hard. Kind of like a lite mist rain but it lasted for over 3 hours. And afterwards it was so cool outside. What a blessing it was to have the rain for awhile. We sure could sure alot more, those poor farm animals and farmers crops. I feel so bad for them!!
Going to go run some errands. Then come home and drain off my pool. Fix my patch, let it sit over night so it will hold. Then refill it on Wed so I have a nice clean fresh new pool up. Thursday I go up to see Dr. Scott. I am hoping he will be able to tell me something about doing this hernia repair for me.
Jan: I know what you mean. It was like I felt so different from night and day. In such a short amount of time. It was really weird but in sucha good way. No, I havne theard from Brenda I am going to call her this morning to see how she is doing. Yes, we did get our air conditner fixed. I was piled with 3 blankets last night I was so cold but I only have it set on 72. Thats another funny thing about this surgery. I use to be so blooming hot blooded. No anymore half the time I am ice cold like a popsicle. The only up side to that is that I get to snuggle close with DH to keep me warm. lol
Sherr: Are you headed home today?? Have a safe trip and I will give you a call later.
Lana: So how did you enjoy all the kids yesterday??
DH & I love it when school start back up. Cause we will take out coffee (or water for me now) and sit on the front porch and watch them walk to school. Then after they are in school for approx 1 to 2 months in the morning they walk by the house practiseing with the band. I have always like marching bands!!!
Rachael: Sorry I missed your call. Did you get your shot last night??
Sky: The area that you walk in sounds so beatiful. I bet it is peaceful out there in the moring before the hussle and bussle of the day begins.
Colette: Sounds like your a busy little bee. We are wanting to side out house also. They are doing on across the street fro mus and talk about changeing the looks of that house. WOW!!!!
Todd: Golf??
lol JK I have a nephew tha tis a golf nut!!! Did you say you had a puppy??
Brenda: Where are you??????
Craig: How are you feeling?? Have you been dropping your drawers anymore??
Andrew: How are you doing?? You know November really isnt that far off. Before you know it your day will be here. Like I told Sherr just look at it as a count down. Just xx amount of days let for me to feel like this. After that I am going to be a new person. lol
Well I hope you all have a great day. I will check in with Brenda to see how she is doing. If she hasnt posted before I can submit this that it. lol Will talk to you all later!!!
God Bless
Melissa
