Sunday was a wonderful day. Cool and cloudy yes but a nice day to walk and work in the flower beds. I got several silly persimmon sprouts dug up until my arms gave out using that pick axe. Lol that thing was heavy. Now my shoulders are sore but nothing gained by not doing, I am determined to get some of my muscle back that I use to have. I don't have access to weight rooms and exercise rooms so I will do my own by working in the yard. I walked around the block today once and a half again. Tomorrow I am going to go for twice around and see if I can make it. I think I can. With my new shoes my knees don't hurt nearly as bad as they did. As long as I have them on. I am trying to get some of the flower beds cleaned out of old flowers but true gardeners have a hard time pulling up flowers that are still blooming even tho they look bad. Lol. So will wait some more I guess. I am planting several planters full of pansy's and kale so I can continue to have pretty color thru most of the winter. I have filled my window boxes with kale and pansy's also they look so pretty and colorful . I am going to post this tonight since I have an early morning appointment with my pcp. And there is a lot of posts to respond too. So here goes. Colette: Great on the still losing weight. You can always go for the gold metal but keep an eye on yourself and don't get too skinny. I know what you mean about the weight coming off at different rates. Mine is going to be slow I guess. But at least I know I am losing inches so you cant lose inches with out really losing weight too. Sherr:don't be discouraged but you will be on that same liquid diet after surgery too but it wont seem so bad then because you wont want much anyway. I know that seems weird but it is true. Hey we got gas yesterday for 1.99 how neat does that feel? It needs to come way down even futher I think Your cherry limeade sounds good. . Not many more days till your surgery. Hang on girl it is a wild ride. Lana: I am so glad you got to see your daughter and grandson. I know you will get to see them so much more now. How far away from you are they now. Close enough that you can run up there on week ends huh? Never heard of a Cybex machine. Lol but it sounds sort of complicated. How is your friend that came to the support meeting with you.? Hope he is still doing well. Barbara: LOL I bet that needle did look long to you compared to an insulin needle. Hope you enjoyed your nap. I have never been a nap person but since surgery it seems like I really need one everyday. And I take them too. Lol Andrew: wow you were close to those tornadoes glad none got you or the new place you are moving into. They were some wild ones weren't they? One month and 19 days wow not much longer , then you will be on the bench too. I can just see you and Colette partying in the hospital. Lol LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUND JAN

Dear Jan and all my Missouri OH Board Brothers and Sisters, What a beautiful day. So nippy and bright. We didn't go out yesterday after church and the gym. I made vegetable soup but didn't have any bones so used hamburger and it was good. Enough left for three lunches this week!!! Stacy and Adam will be four hours from me so if I leave early on Saturday I can be there before noon and stay until 4 or 5 on Sunday if I want. WOO HOO!!! We jus****ched football all afternoon and evening yesterday and I straightened up the house a little bit and put the clean sheets back on my guest room twin beds after the company left. All in all, a pretty laid back day. I need those every once in awhile. Love and Hugs to all Lana

Good Morning Everyone: Brrrrrrr it is cold out there. Well I think we can actually say that fall is offically here. Yesterday we shut all the windows and storm windows and turned on the heat. I am officially makening a statement to all fresh WLS patients, to upcoming WLS patients, and to furture WLS patients. If you was the hottest blooded person you ever knew. And it could be the dead of winter and you was comfortable running around in shorts or no jacket. GET READY FOR ALL THAT TO CHANGE!!!!!!! My body temp took a 180 and I am totally opposite to what I was before surgery. And the funny thing was I was told this before surgery and I was like yea what ever not me. WRONG!!!! lol It is a new feeling for me to be cold. Have never really remembered being cold before. But needless to say I am going to be buying me a couple of sweat outfits to hang out in. DH is helping a friend today. I will proabley go to my F-I-L's house to check on him and see what he needs from the store ect. Pulled chicken out for supper I went thro some of my cookbooks and found some really good receipes with lowfat, lowcarb, and good protein. When I have a few I will type them out and post them if anyone is interested?? Well I need to get busy. I hope you all have a great weekend. Please remember Sherr this week in your prayers. Her surgery is Friday and we need to pray God gives her strength and wraps his arms around her!!! Luv you Gurl!!! God Bless Melissa

Hi Jan and Fellow Missourians Hi Yes Jan I sat for at least thirty minutes convincing myself that I could do this So I called my baby girl (a medical assistant) and told her I need for you to come over and give tthis shot to me, she said "Mom you can do it", I said "Have you seen this needle" This was my child who hated to get shots herself, I'm still trying to figure out why she became a medical assistant You know I think now my children are finding out that certain things bother me they always thought wow mom is not afraid of anything Anyway it was a real experience but like other things in my life I was able to overcome the fright of doing it and as NIKE says "Just do it." But the Lord gave me strength with this, man, I wasn't EVEN afraid of having surgery but that needle looked like it was made for horses Okay enough with being a chicken I'm okay now and will be able to do the next one without all the drama Anyway new day new challenges let me see what I can get into, my strength is getting better everyday I was able to stand yesterday in church doing prayer which I had to always sit because my knees and legs and feet hurt so bad, my "WOW" list is just extraordinaire it's the little things that seem to hit you without warning that makes you do a little So all I can do is praise God for this new life. EVERYONE have a blessed beautiful day in the Lord! Barb T. in KC

Oh yeah Jan I wasn't always a nap person but seems like after my Quadruple Bypass surgery my body decided to take naps and everyday between four and six if I get quiet I'm going to sleep, or sometimes if I get just still for to long time I nap. It use to be a time where I would be up all nigh until five or six in tne morning cause for some reason I couldn't sleep, I would on;y sleep about three hours then get up and go to work, so maybe my body is just catching up on the sleep I missed, but I don't fight with it when it's time for rest anymore. have a good one!
