Here I am and I have good news !!

Well although it's been awhile since I've posted, I still am on this board at least a couple times a day. I have great news !!! I was able to be added to my partners insurance and it was effective November 1st. I actually got the insurance card on Nov. 1st. I did the happy dance over that card ! Her policy does cover WLS sooooooo ..... I start my journey !! I go to a seminar on Nov. 11 and the next week the surgeon's office will call to set up my appointment, I had a consult with the doctor a year and half ago but my job changed policies and the new one had an exclusion for WLS. I am going with Dr. Luis Gorospe in Tulsa. 30years bariatric experience.My best friend had him for her WLS and has done extremely well. So I am so excited...tryig not to be impatient. But ya know .... Please keep me in your prayers and wish me luck for a speedy process. I AM READY !! I appreciate all of the encouragement and prayers and I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions soon. Dannielle

Melissa , You are the best ! I really enjoyed our ride to the support meeting. I know I had lots of questions and I appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. This board has kept me fighting and pushing. I couldn't ask for a better forum. None of he other bords I have browsed are as busy as ours. Sometimes I don't post because I get in a funk because I am pre-op and basically feel sorry for myself. Thanks for calling me out. I'll call you when I get my consult date. Hey Dannielle, Congratulations on getting coverage. Boy it does sound like you have had quite a wait, but hopefully that gave you even more time to prepare and be CERTAIN this is for you. I've met others who've gone to TULSA so I'm sure you'll do GREAT! We are TOO far fromyou if you can ever make it to a support meeting in Springfield, we'd love to meet you!
