Saturday What's Happenings??
Good morning to all my friends
Well 2 days 12 hours and a hand full of minutes. Yeah you could say I am a bit excited, but with the thoughts of last Monday in my head yet it is hard to say I am 100% excited, more like 95% excited and 5% weary. All in all thou I am ready to start my new life. To everyone else who is having there surgery on the 14th I will be thinking and praying for you all also. By the way, what do any of you recommend I take with me to the hospital????
Thank you EVERYONE Alan
Alan Im for sure taking a pillow with me, you know how them hospital pillows are lol plus stuff to brush my teeth and freshen up with. They told me to bring a robe to walk in and slippers but I have no robe, hopefully I can use two gowns or something so my backside doesnt stick out LoL If ya like to read maybe a bible or book or something. Im sure i'll forget something along the way lol. You'll be in my prayers since we'll be on the table at the same time!!
Bless ya,
Andrew
Hope you guys don't mine me dropping in on this one even though I don't have a date yet. I will be bringing my pillow too! I learned THAT lesson a longggg time ago! Their pillows give me headaches! I like to bring my Bible or Bible CD and my walkman-like cd player, some of my Christian CDs too (don't forget the extra batteries)....just have someone there to keep an eye on the stuff while your under...I hate having to add that but you never know anymore and if you guys worked as hard as we have for your stuff which I'm I'm sure you did...you don't need someone coming along thinking they like it more than you! I also love word search so I will have my trusty, dusty word search book with me...don't forget extra pens. It never fails, the pen you have been using forever will always give out when you don't have access to another one and if you bring just one extra, it'll be one that doesn't work!
I also like a comfy pair of socks to wear, those sheets tear my feet and toes up and sometimes they will let you get away with them instead of slippers...I have a hard time keeping slippers on with having "drop foot"....you will want them especially if your diabetic like me....gotta take care of thum feets! I don't like their sock either! I know I sound like a baby but I have had numerous hospital stays and have stayed at the hospital with my hubby and many family and friends!Take some lotion too, hospitals dry your skin out, don't forget the chapstick!!

Thanks for the Prayers Andrew, God knows what he's doing!! He's been having to work overtime around here lately! My heartrate and bp have been acting up. I think I need to let go of the caffiene!
That boy of ours! I know he's a young man now! Just wish he would act like the young "Christian" man that we raised! I afraid that he has thrown his whole future in the ministry away now!
Gotta give it too God and let it go! I have WAY to much other stuff going on!
Hubby comes in yesterday and says "you know Thanksgiving is week after next, don't ya?" and I'm like yeah, so? I don't think he knows what to think about me right now...usually I have "Christmas" in layaway by the end of August and this year I haven't even started. I usually have Christmas cards done but haven't started. Christmas decorations...nothing!! I told everyone last year that it would be my last BIG Holiday season. This year I will cook a small Thanksgiving dinner for the hubby and I and anyone else that pops in...same with Christmas! As for gifts, I think this year it will just be money and if I get the cards out in time, fine. If I don't, thats fine too! Same with the decorating! Geez, I'm starting to sound like the "hubby"....baaa humbug! Say it ain't so?? We will see, but I do know, no more BIG meals! Too expensive and it takes me days to get all my energy back after cooking those kinda meals!
Lately, all ll I have been working on is our home, trying to clean it up and get rid of all the junk we don't need! Making it a cozy little cottage for just the hubby and me! That will be my Christmas gift for us! Love & Prayers to All Deb M
Hey hey Deb thanks for all the tips, those really helped me out, I had heard about bring chapstix but forgot and the walkman, I never even thought about that, thats a great idea, I love listening to gospel music and such!
Thanks again for all the ideas and prayers and your so welcome for the prayers, i'll keep them comin at ya!!
Andrew
My stay was only a day and a 1/2 so I didn't need much, never cracked a book or magazine...spent most my time sleeping or walking....walked ALOT in the hospital. I just wore what they gave me too. Even thoguh I had my own stuff.
Sooooo, GAS-X is my only recommendation! lol NAd maybe a fart-fan! LOL I picked up one at SPENCER's for a WLS friend in CA and took it o her in the hosp! She didn't appreciate me making her laugh so soon after WLS....it HURT! lol
Will be thinking of you!!!
Tami
BUSY day here!!!!
Started with a 7am wake-up call from the little rascals at my house (7girls this morning!!) Have 6 the whole wekend but an extra neighbor kid showed up last night too so I thought, what's one more, so she slept over as well.
COOKED (yes I cooked!) a BIG b-fast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage for the little ones. Have run the dishwasher 3 times today! Have done at least 5 loads of laundry since last night..bedding accidents at night! Then raspberry crytal light spilled all over the clothes! lol WE made 3 fleece no sew blankets today! Went shopping at the mall, just ME and the 6 girls ages 3-14! They did awsome so I took them to the park for a couple of hours. Did some walking there. Had pot roast going in the crock-pot so dinner was easy! Rented CARS for the kidos too. So now they are enjoying a movie and some pop-corn....ahhhhhhhh. : )
Tomorrow we're off to church! Late service as they want to watch 2 movies tonight and will be up late....they INFORMED me of this plan! : ) Okay by me as long as they don't wake me up at 7am again. Sunday morning b-fast for them is donuts and cereal, they can serve themselves this time! lol
Today was Veteran's Day and my veteran, Jim, was working on the lawn and winterizing the boat and goign on service calls all day. One of the blankets the kids made was for Jim as a Verteran's day gift. They were excited to do that for him. (he was a Marine for 4 yrs and served in teh Gulf War)
Hugs everyone and I'll keep you all in prayer this week as several are off to have surgery!
