In need of an angel....

I am sitting here working on my profile, and realized that I don't have an angel. I know I will have all the Lord's angels looking over me, but I would like an earthbound angel to update everyone after my surgery. Now that the day is getting closer, I am starting to feel really alone. I am new to this forum and have just begun to make friends. Any one want to volunteer?

Jan, I had no one in mind since I don't know very many people (yet) on OH. The only person that will be with me when I am having the surgery will be my husband. Julia had posted that she only lives minutes away from Sedalia and that she would try to come and see me. I just don't want to go through this alone. I guess I waited to long to try and make some friends on the forums. I do have a question though. What is the reason the hospital makes you wear the bracelet home? I have to wear it for 9 more days. I am so thankful that you volunteered. It makes me feel that someone out there really does care....

Hi Kat, I would love to be an angel in addition to Jan. I can be there that day for you. What time is surgery? Also I believe the bracelet you are talking about is called a blood bank bracelet and if they have typed and crossed matched you for blood products in case of emergency then you will have to wear it till they take it off.It is so they have all the right numbers to match you and the right blood. Just let me know. JULIA

Julia, I have to be at the hospital at 6 a.m. on Dec. 1. The surgery is at 8 a.m. I believe. All my paperwork is still in the car. I was so exhausted when I got home, I just left everything out there. We will be staying at the Best Western right on Hwy 65. It is an unwanted expense, but I can not see leaving here at about 2 in the morning to make it up there in time. I also don't want to run into anything unexpected and not be able to make it there in time. I would be more than happy to have you there for the day of surgery. A person can never have to many angels!!!!

Of course we all care for you and no you didnt wait too long. Just jump right in and and let everyone know who you are and let us get to know you and you get to know us. Julia and I can work together to let everyone know that you are doing ok. As long as someone posts to the board that your doing fine is what an angel really does. so if Julia , who lives close to Sedalia wants to do it that is fine , but you can count on me to be the back up if need be ok? and yes Julia is right about the bracelet. Can I be special enough to have 2 angels? Never can have to many, you know!! I know this may sound crazy, but I am losing sleep over this surgery. I am so excited about what is to come, but on the other hand, I am nervous and scared. Who wouldn't be? I am also relieved that I am finally having my surgery, after a year of waiting and fighting for it....

Kat ,Will see you there at 6am. It is common for people to be nervous and excited. But you will be so surprised when you wake from surgery and realize you are finally there! I wish I was as close as you. JULIA

I can not wait for that day. It has been a long year, filled with heartache and disappointments. I was denied last year. For someone on an insurance board to tell me no, when they have no idea who I am or what I am going through kind of made me a little on the angry side. I can't wait to meet you. If you would like my phone number before hand, just send me a message and let me know, and I will send it to you in a message......Just keep your head up and don't lose site of what you are after. I have to think about my year long wait as God's work. Last year, around the time that my surgery would have been, I didn't have anyone to watch my children while I was in the hospital. Now my next door neighbor will be keeping them. Kind of makes me nervous, I have never been away from my children that long. I have to think as though I will only be away from them for a few days, and if I don't get this surgery, I may not be there for them at all....

Kat so glad that Julia is actually going to come to the hospital for you. I live too far away for that but will be with you in prayer and thought next week. You will be fine and come out with a new lease on life. God gave Dr. Hornbostel the ability to help so many of us to have the chance to live a good and normal life again and it will happen to you too. Julia you are such a good person to go to the hospital to be with Kat thank you so much. Jan
